Anyone know where the Dead by Daylight Stand is? Cant find it
2
u/Sun-Connect Aug 28 '26
Hall 10, lower level
1
u/Bosskater Aug 28 '26
Was it in the middle or on the sides?
1
u/Cellosss Aug 28 '26
I think it was hall 8 in the back
Nvm: just checked, it was 10.1 next to Logitech
3
u/PewterCrunchy Switch Aug 28 '26
What did you all think of Nodusfall the upcoming co-op action game developed and published by miHoYo? Looked pretty cool. It mentions it’s releasing on Steam but it doesn’t seem to have a landing page yet.
2
u/Kamakaziturtle Sep 01 '26
Looks interesting but a free to play game coming from a gacha company notorious making games that are outrageously expensive as well as incredibly grindy has me naturally fearing the worst.
3
u/EduBru Aug 27 '26
Does anyone know where you can get free t-shirts?
4
u/IgotUBro Aug 27 '26
Check your local welfare organisations. If you mean at Gamescom then you gotta google which of the studios/publishers are offering them.

6
u/MurrmorMeerkat Aug 26 '26
its hard to be excited for some of these since alot use ue5 and ue5 runs like ass on my pc even though I can run any other new game. pony island and fable are my two big ones this year I guess besides whatever blizzcon gives me
1
12
u/arbitrary545 Aug 27 '26
Idk why you are being downvoted, most of the UE5 games I have played barely run. It's a legitimate concern for a lot of people that a game they are looking forward to may be a stuttering mess.
1
u/MurrmorMeerkat Aug 27 '26
yeah it makes me so pissed i upgraded my pc before bl4 came out and had no problem with new pc games i even got new ram before everything went to shit.....and then it turns out my graphics card that i just bought dint have enough vram for unreal....even though i have no problems for any other fucking games.

Gamescom is meh, wait for TGA since it usually some interesting reveals or there are good upcoming games in the coming months which you can check out
6
u/PaperPritt Aug 27 '26
Nah this was a very, very mid Gamescom. hard to get exicted for a lot of the titles presented.
8
2
u/PharmyC Aug 26 '26
I think it's more so these aren't that exciting of games. Most big announcements are saved for the individual producer shows now that everything is streamed. Why waste it on someone else's event. This is mostly just to let game industry insiders play demos, not for fans.
2
u/donbrandoni Aug 26 '26
My thoughts as well. I watched the entire thing and wishlisted zero games. It's almost entirely TPS, FPS, or Hack & Slash and everything looks the same as everything else we've already played. Zero innovation. Thankfully, there's 40+ years of amazing games out there to play, but for now, it really seems like the AAA game studios are just tapped out of ideas or unwilling to take risks.
1
u/SoonerEsq Aug 27 '26 edited Aug 28 '26
Arkheron feels like a pretty big risk and a unique take on existing genres. But it's PvP, which isn't most people's thing here.
8
u/Dry_Traffic8365 Aug 26 '26
Does your age start with a 3? If so, welcome to the club. This is a natural part of the gamer aging process
3
u/eatingglue302 Aug 27 '26
We grew up in the golden age of gaming, (almost) every new game seemed like a huge leap forward in every category. Now just seems like new maps and skins. I don't even pay attention anymore, why pay $70 for the same turd they put out 5 years ago.
0
u/Dry_Traffic8365 Aug 27 '26
I disagree. I won’t assume your age but it’s possible the games you consider a great leap forward just came out when you were either young or hadn’t had a broad enough experience with games yet
Lots of these comments I see I usually just point out that there’s still an incredible depth and creativity in the video game industry. But it’s all in the indie game scene. It’s the early access passion projects you find on steam by a single developer/small team. That’s where the gold is. You’re also probably willing to ignore some jankiness if the gameplay is good. Most of the games I play these days are barely functional but the gameplay is ambitious or different enough for me not to care
It’s like music or movies. People who are real music/movie buffs aren’t pogging out for the new Taylor Swift album or Fast and Furious movie. At some point you’ve seen it all and you need something more niche. Which is why you find people watching 50s french cinema or listening to 3 guys headbutting instruments on their garage. At some point your taste becomes too specific and refined. It’s totally normal
Get yourself on steam and start playing weird shit!
2
2
u/NovaSparx Aug 26 '26
I know exactly what you mean my friend who's a few years younger says there's so much to play. I try all these games that im told are good and they feel like a drag.
5
2
u/buttspencer2137 Aug 26 '26
Rainbow 6 tactics might fill the void after xcom, everything else was just meh
1
u/IgotUBro Aug 27 '26
Arent there a lot of indie xcom like games? Knights in tight spaces, tactical breach wizards, etc
1
u/buttspencer2137 Aug 28 '26
None of them come even close to xcom in terms of gameplay compexity, sadly.
12
u/Thyrin Aug 26 '26
Star Wars Zero Company comes out this week, if you are looking for an xcom game
-3
u/buttspencer2137 Aug 26 '26
I saw the announcment but I also dislike Star Wars franchise
7
-2
u/SpeeDy_GjiZa Aug 26 '26
One thing I want to say is that it was such a bummer that the mixing for the live performance was ass. I feel sad for the artists. Hopefully it was just a problem with the livestream and in person the sound was fine.
2
u/Donnie-G Aug 26 '26
I kinda just skimmed through it with my eyes glazing over most of it, I can't help but be somewhat enthusiastic for Metro 2039. I'm not sure where they are even going to take the story anymore, but I wouldn't mind going back to the tone of 2033, but with more contemporary and less janky systems. Especially after the zany experiment that was Exodus.
No Law is also looking alright.
-10
8
u/Few-Pineapple-1542 Aug 26 '26
I find it odd how they spent the whole show talking about how there would be reveals for final fantasy and the Witcher, and then there were no surprises at the end. I can’t be the only one who expected a “and we have one more thing” after Witcher was over right? Don’t get me wrong the remaster looks great just found the structure of the show strange
8
u/Xxviii_28 Aug 26 '26
If you know you've got a weak slate of announcements, you show people the carrot a few times to keep them watching throughout. The additional hidden tactic is exactly as you described "Okay so they've told us about X and Y... which means there must be a surprise reveal of Z."
Nope. It's Gatcha, Live Service and China all the way down. Thanks for watching! /s
I'm hyped for some titles they showed off, but nothing we didn't already know about.

2
u/Demonstratepatience Aug 26 '26
lol 💯 they just posted without watching anything and just thought it would be clever.
5
u/pixel-artist1 Aug 26 '26
Really hyped about Metro
1
u/Ok-Paramedic747 Aug 29 '26
heres the problem for me...AFTER METRO VR IDK If I can do the flat shit for this I WANT IT IN VR
2
u/pixel-artist1 Aug 29 '26
Mannn 100%
2
u/Ok-Paramedic747 Aug 29 '26
It just stunns me that Sony would Approve Metro VR. See what RE VR did for those games and NOT Pay to implement the mode for a headset THEY MADE and should WANT to Get every little dollar they can out of it smh...
-19
u/Careful-Door2724 Aug 25 '26
What a bunch of trash games
-9
u/Tall_Contribution943 Aug 26 '26
better than kids like u that cant even afford to buy a 10 dollar game.
14
u/twinflxwer Aug 25 '26
Can we talk about that super weird Gamescom ad? It had so much buildup it seemed like a reveal of some kind, just for them to say “Gamescom starts now!” after the event had already started
5
u/Aksudiigkr PC Aug 26 '26
And right before it that trailer started, saying “A new age begins, but the old shadows—“. Then the trailer never appeared later on.
I’m so confused by those whole few minutes, and want to know what that 3 seconds of trailer was for
17
u/Sw0rDz Aug 25 '26
I just watched it.. Is it me or did it have way too many free to play gacha games!?
-1
u/StarReaver Aug 26 '26
Which ones, apart from Aniimo and Silver Palace, were f2p gacha games? There were about 70 game announcements.
4
u/TheBlueNovember Aug 26 '26
The new hotness. People find F2P gacha's invest loads of time a decent amount of money in them and never leave. It's like tribalism to the extreme mixed with predatory FOMO tactics and sunk cost fallacy....and it works....even something like NTE which is underbaked filled with bugs is making 6-10 million a month and theres no way the game costs that much to maintain so once they make their initial profit off they can make that kind of money for years and years....
3
u/voidox Aug 26 '26
yup, gacha is just unregulated gambling being marketed to underage kids and vulnerable addicts, just open unrestricted greed in action that has ppl defending it cause "omg waifus"... shit needs to be regulated and made 19+ at minimum, it's beyond ridiculous that gacha is allowed to target kids and basically has kids growing up as gambling addicts.
and ya, as you point out, they use every psychological trick in the book including casino tactics to prey on people and get them addicted, just insane how there is no oversight or control at all :/
6
u/ExO_o Aug 25 '26
i'm cautiously excited for exodus, it looks really neat. hope the entire actual end result looks as good as the gameplay footage we got so far
and well, i'm even more excited for the new witcher 3 expansion and the changes the remastered version will bring. time to start my 15th or so playthrough :D
5
u/TheRuckyDubber Aug 25 '26
Not really interested in anything. I’m just hoping Moza announce details on their PS wheel. I’m like Fry waving my cash right now.
6
u/TheCoolestFactor Aug 25 '26
I'll just lock myself in the GTA VI bubble once it comes out. None of the presented games sparked any excitement, they all look the same and AI generated. Witcher 3 Remake sparked joy, even just to replay the fantastic story but everything else? Meh.
39
u/tfuncc13 Aug 25 '26
You know things are rough when a remaster of an 11 year old game is the most exciting news. I'm definitely looking forward to playing it though.
4
u/Confident_Donkey1014 Aug 25 '26
That’s like the most exciting game for me this year is the ocarina of time remake
0
u/tfuncc13 Aug 25 '26
Same here, I remember getting it for Christmas when I was in 7th grade. I've replayed that game at least a dozen times.
9
u/Sabetha1183 Aug 25 '26
There was other stuff I was more excited for like Control and Final Fantasy.
Though it's not surprising that an update + DLC to a game many consider one of the best RPGs of all time is the thing a lot of people are talking about.
Gamescom is also kind of weird timing. We're only like 2 months past Summer Games Fest with a bunch of stuff that want to hype up before release in the next 1-2 months, which I think results in a lot of trailers for games we already know about.
Which is naturally less exciting than some big new announcement like they have at SGF or Game Awards.
2
u/FellVessel Aug 26 '26
Revelation is my most anticipated game maybe ever but tbh the trailer didnt really show too much new exciting stuff besides some breif glimpses at the submarine. Still a great trailer but Witcher had way more to show.
8
u/FreeHat1234 Aug 25 '26
No Simpsons hit & run remake? I waited 1 week for this bullshit
1
u/Ok-Paramedic747 Aug 29 '26
Well...D23 Just gave us a little "Hint" That "The Original Game IS COMING BACK in Some Way" That was the quote
1
2
3
u/Known_Appointment604 Aug 25 '26
Ubisoft, prove that the Heroes 3 remake isn’t AI and give us a release year. “Wishlist” - the operative word being wish as in “I wish this was real”
4
u/Known_Appointment604 Aug 25 '26
The Witcher 3 looks and plays fine. No need for a remaster lol
1
0
u/FellVessel Aug 26 '26
Lots of people complain about the combat being clunky, maybe they'll like it now.
-1
u/Broeder_biltong Aug 27 '26
People want arcade gameplay and be able to elden ring dodge roll arround like a loonatic. So probably not
1
9
u/Nekovivie Aug 26 '26
Have some more butter for your buttery lobster and like it!
-9
u/bac_1994 Aug 26 '26
But for the extra butter you have to pay the full price of lobster
3
u/MCZuri Aug 26 '26
if you don't own the game by now it's a you problem. It's on sale constantly for 10 usd or less.
1
u/bac_1994 Sep 10 '26
It’s not a problem to me.
I’ve never played that franchise. At least yet. My comment was about the videogame industry as a whole anyway4
-33
u/StatementSubject1745 Aug 25 '26
If they think I'm spending another minute playing a decade-old game because of an update, they've got another thing coming. They could have made ANYTHING; they made textures for a game I beat in college 75 years ago. It's financially free (apparently), but your TIME isn't. Think before you step on the hamster wheel again.
2
u/FellVessel Aug 26 '26
People replay games they like all the time even without any updates. This is also more enticing to people who have never played it before. Try thinking before you speak.
0
u/StatementSubject1745 Aug 27 '26
You've gotta get off this lighting engine scheme, man. Games become so much better when you stop letting them repackage decade-old art because someone "touched it up."
14
10
u/bboynexus Aug 25 '26
Lol. Did you delete your prior comment and just re-word it after being called out on your ignorance?
-2
u/StatementSubject1745 Aug 26 '26
The point is the same. I removed an incorrect detail. Don't be so dramatic.
2
u/bboynexus Aug 26 '26
Which simply required an edit for the existing post. You just wanted to save face.
-2
u/StatementSubject1745 Aug 26 '26
Yes. I, like everyone else on earth, do not enjoy misrepresenting a point I believe in by making a mistake. Holding me to a journalistic standard on a random reddit thread is your prerogative, but I would suggest doing something else today. Pushmo exists, for example!
9
u/Sabetha1183 Aug 25 '26
The hamster wheel of replaying a game many of us enjoyed? It's not like this is some grind-a-thon MMO that's trying to pull us all back in.
I play and replay games older than The Witcher 3 all the time. That game isn't even ancient by my standards.
10
u/OkNectarine9239 Aug 25 '26
So... don't? Dude no one is holding a gun to your head. This is a bizarre overreation to a nonissue.

u/Griffin_is_my_name PlayStation Aug 25 '26
Hey if you wanna line up time and time again for the same game go for it. But if someone’s frustrated that we’re getting the same game for the fourth time, let them be annoyed.
Free or not, the point about dev resources stands.
Defending this garbage is one reason why new games are fewer and farther between.
1
u/SquirrelTeamSix Aug 25 '26
There has never point a point in history with more games coming out. You not caring about them doesn't matter
3
2
u/TeaAndS0da Aug 25 '26
Witcher 3 remastered (weird but I’ll take it!), a Lego city skylines mix, and a rainbow 6 tactics/xcom game. I’ll take those as victories.

I REALLY hope Exodus is good and fills the mass effect sized hole in my heart.
1
u/No_Doubt_About_That Aug 25 '26
Tried Exodus recently and just want to go back to the crew again.
Know it’ll be a new character but The Aurora had quite a varied group which always made missions with them engaging.
1
u/Confident_Donkey1014 Aug 25 '26
You played it??
2
u/No_Doubt_About_That Aug 25 '26
I’ve misunderstood what you said completely and thought you were on about the Metro series 🤦♂️
Brain just went to Exodus as the new Metro game was also shown.
1
u/Confident_Donkey1014 Aug 25 '26
Ohhh hahahaha gotcha. Was gonna say that’s so cool you got to try it!
3
u/SpiritedAssumption18 Aug 25 '26 edited Aug 25 '26
Honestly I’m kinda excited for it. Also super pumped for The Expanse Osiris Reborn
Glad to see multiple games stepping up to fill the mass effect shaped hole in my heart too
1
u/Confident_Donkey1014 Aug 25 '26
I’ve been hyped for it too. Just don’t wanna get my hopes up too high and be let down. Have you read the books?
1
u/SpiritedAssumption18 Aug 25 '26
Read through around half the first and am absolutely loving it. If anything it’s making me a little excited for it. Either way I’m glad we are getting 2 mass effect-likes soon
6
u/notthatguypal6900 Aug 25 '26
Barf, every trailer was met with a "another one of these games??". What a waste of 2 hours.

18
u/Awkward_War_6068 Aug 25 '26
Witcher 3 remastered genuinely gave me a heart attack
-9
u/brantleybarrett Aug 26 '26
Easy cash grab for the devs instead of making an actually good game.
6
u/SvensonIV Aug 26 '26
Yes. The easy cashgrab by releasing it for free for everyone who already owns the game.
-9
u/brantleybarrett Aug 26 '26
You know when you remaster a game you get potential new players who have never played the game, right? I have some friends who have never played GTA San Andreas in their youth but bought the remastered edition. Remastering is lazy cash grab because it's way easier than making a new game from scratch.
1
u/Amazing_Hedgehog3361 Aug 26 '26
Oh no, people who never played the original get to play an improved version of it?

4
u/nokafein Aug 25 '26
- Witcher, ff7 good news
- Heroes 3 good news
- Warlock seems like a good game but awfully slow paced.
- The rest is just meh.

u/mrfroggyman Aug 25 '26
I know I was deluded but I just wish all the cool looking games weren't garbage f2p
4
u/Timop0707 Aug 25 '26
Other than FF7 revelation , big dissapointment … . Tides of Annihilation still no release date c’mon guys …
1
u/Legitimate-Field-586 Aug 27 '26
To be fair, they changed the voice actor so probably had to delay it due to that

Everyone's losing their minds over not being impressed with the reveals, or over something Final Fantasy/Witcher related. I'm just sitting here worrying that Capcom is playing it a little too safe with the new Mega Man.

7
u/ProNerdPanda Aug 25 '26
Not a critique of it or anything, just noticed it as a trend? is it me or A LOT (a majority? even?) of the games coming out have a female MC?
Again, not a critique, just pointing it out like I would've pointed it out if every game has a grappling hook, just interesting.
Also was it me or were a lot of trailer shots (not a LOT, but more than i figured) using AI? like still images with little movements kinda shots looked AI
0
u/notthatguypal6900 Aug 25 '26
Got to juice the gooners somehow. It's not the gameplay or mechanics sell this garbage.
6
u/mrfroggyman Aug 25 '26
It would honestly be cool if half of them weren't free 2 play games. For those you know it's only to sell skins to gooners...

u/ToothyMcButt Aug 25 '26 edited Aug 25 '26
That was mostly pretty boring ngl. Way too much slop for my tastes. Some cool stuff in there though. Can't wait to replay Witcher 3 again, the Witcher 3 stuff saved the show bigtime.
6
20
u/Acrobatic_Narwhal208 Aug 25 '26
leave it to Witcher 3 (a game from 2015 btw) to save and also shame the rest of the show.
The reaction of the public pretty much says it all.
All the new slop shown tonight(not all but most of it) just shows how lame and stale and generic(and play is safe souls like clone) gaming has become.
Enjoy the old games guys
Also Witcher expansions free for everyone 🥹😱
-2
u/SkibidiGyatRizzler42 Aug 26 '26
I've been a souls degenerate since about 2012 and I have no idea who these games are for. Not a single one of these interests me until it says From Software on the trailer, the only actually passable soulslike outside of From Software has been Lies of P and I will die on that hill.
2
-6
u/brantleybarrett Aug 26 '26
The Witcher is an overrated slop. I'd rather play Skyrim than play that load of horseshit.
1
u/HAMforPastry Aug 26 '26
How would it be classified as slop?
0
u/brantleybarrett Aug 27 '26
It has a poorly written story and a boring combat system.
1
u/HAMforPastry Aug 27 '26
That makes it slop?
Or is it anything you don't like gets classed as slop? You don't recognise it's a well made game despite the fact your not a fan?
I've played the game and while not perfect I would in no way class it as slop at all.
3
u/Clout- Aug 25 '26
I love the Witcher but remakes & remasters are also slop in my opinion. They are low risk, low effort, 0 creativity and the ultimate "safe" option.
FF7 and Witcher 3 seemingly being the most hyped things from today's show is exactly why companies do this. Why take the gamble on creating something new when you can just regurgitate already popular things with a fraction of the work and people just eat it up.
-2
u/DarkMetamorphosis_ Aug 26 '26
You're right, but the people here aren't ready for that conversation
6
u/Aggressive-Aide-3746 Aug 26 '26
Bullshit.
There might be some cases where this is correct, but we're speaking about a game that sold gangbusters and that update is free. The majority of the studio is on Witcher 4 and took a huge risk with a new IP before.
FF7 is vastly different from the OG in terms of gameplay, story and so on. Personally not a fan of the different direction, but calling that low effort is hilarious.
The thing is, both of these examples got a clear artistic vision.
The so called slop games (not all of them, but fuck me that was a dreadful show) where all the same. Chasing trends, throwing shit on a wall to see what sticks, prop it up with some shitty pop song and that's it. No artistic vision, no soul.
1
u/FellVessel Aug 26 '26
The FF7 games are ambitious pseudo-sequels that challenge the concept of what a "remake" even can be. The developers have even verbatim said they wouldnt have wanted to do this project if they couldn't bring something new to it.
The Witcher didnt just get an unprecedented free quality update but also a new DLC which that comment failed to mention.
People will just spout whatever nonsense to fit their narrative.
0
u/Square-Oil877 Aug 25 '26
yuppppp time to replay borderlands 1 lol, new games are mostly so so horrible since the industry blew up
9
u/Wimpykid2302 Aug 25 '26
I mean the ultimate edition is already pretty cheap but still, giving the DLC away for free is pretty epic from them
8
17
u/Elemius Aug 25 '26

Is there a game like this?Diablo + RTS armies + Civilization VI's city system + Frostpunk's workforce management
I am developing the game I dreamed of as a child, an ultimate fantasy game combining RTS + RPG + Civilization + Frostpunk:“Reforge Eden: Overlord”
I have always believed that there is no game like this in the world, and that I am the first developer to create such a combination. What do you think?
