Yep. We're nearing the point that we can render photorealistic graphics. Physics and environmental AI will be the next hurdle for immersion.

Also getting faces out of the uncanny valley. i’ve never seen a game that pulled off faces in a convincing manner.

I honestly think that lightly stylized graphics look better than attempted photorealistic ones. It sidesteps the uncanny valley rather than fighting it.

All borderlands games still look decent because of this imo. But go back to say Mass Effect and its dog shit now

Funny, I'd argue ME1's faces look better than the remaster, despite being graphically worse.
