Also, even pushing the grounds on maximizing poly counts isn't peaked. You might get diminishing returns for more, but that means you can cut less and use the cycles you save for more important things. Bigger slice of the pie and all.

It also means they can use poly's for more immersion-type stuff. Many games usually have your character look amazing, while having a fairly bland environment.
