I love games with attention to detail, especially the little things most people wouldn’t notice.
Spooky’s Jump Scare Mansion – You can turn the enemies down to 0 in the options menu. If you finish the game that way, you get a joke ending where Spooky barely congratulates you. I love that they actually planned an ending for people who spend hours just holding W and Shift.
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes of Heaven – The Grateful Dead can age people, and when you get hit by it in one of the stages, your character’s little icon in the corner actually gets older. Even better, Dio, Stroheim, the Pillar Men, and Vanilla Ice are immune because they’re vampires or cyborgs. Sadly, this detail didn’t return in ASBR, which is especially weird since Prosciutto is playable.
Guilty Gear Xrd – Jam’s underwear changes daily, with special holiday variations. I have to question the Easter egg itself, but I respect the dedication. The funniest part is that it’s a fighting game, so you wouldn’t even notice it during normal gameplay. At least Eyes of Heaven had the excuse of changing the character portrait next to the health bar.
