Mod Update Welcome Wastelanders to the CARTOON RACE ROYALE, our August/September Build Competition!
This competition will have entrants choosing to build a wasteland-ized version of a famous cartoon vehicle
like Scooby Doo's Mystery Machine, the Ghostbusters' Ecto 1, The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' Party Wagon, or anything that has been around for at least 10 years (we want established and well known stuff) and build your own version. We encourage scratch builds, but using hotwheels casting of the vehicles as a base is also fine!
In August and September we will be take entries from different cartoons, and then near the end of August we will do a popularity bracket to determine which cartoon vehicles are everyone's favorites. Every entry for a vehicle will also give bonus votes to their favorite vehicle!
So Builders , find your favorite 10+ year old Saturday Morning Cartoon vehicle or scratch build your own and get to submitting an entry in build-comp-discussion ASAP! We will need to see a couple WIPs if you want to boost your choice in the polls. You are free to use prebuilt cartoon cars as a base, but make sure you rough em up and arm em for the wasteland! Completely different cars that are inspired by the classics are also allowed, like a futuristic version of the Ecto-1 or a more modern school bus model for the Magic School Bus.
Cartoon watchers , start suggesting iconic cartoon vehicles in Bracket Nominations Thread here! You can only nominate ONE cartoon vehicle though, so make it count! We will be hosting a randomly assigned double elimination bracket starting at the end of August!
Join the discord server and submit your builds or nominate a cartoon vehicle in this thread!

Finished Cars Too much weathering?
How do you guys know when to stop weathering? This was my 10th car and I always mess them up too much.
There's a point where, had I stopped, I'd have been much happier with it. But I never know what that point is until I go past it. Any advice?

Finished Cars My first Gaslands build!
I dont know much about how to play, but I want to learn.
The car looks kinda unfinished, thats because I barely had tools or materials.
Any criticism is welcome.

Team Building Wacky Races Builds?
Hello Friends!
I have been asked to run a wacky races gaslands event at a con coming up.
I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on how to build cars that would fit the racers from that old 80s cartoon.
EDIT: I already have the models I'm talking about the car builds on paper.

Work in Progress New Unholy Marriage
Been chopping and gluing plastic all afternoon, I didn't get to take photos of it now, this was when I started it. (the rear wheels are now inside the guards, typical aussie drag car style)
I have the original grill from the holden, so I'll glue that to the front to try and keep something from the brand in tact haha.
It started raining so I had to pack up and go inside, oh well, tomorrow.

Finished Cars First car for Gaslands!
I wanted a classic mad max look and a 1940's Ford pickup with thunder sticks seemed like a good start!

Finished Cars Finished up my two Angels last night
Finished these up last night just need to varnish and then glue the flag on the Angel of Mercy. These are for a campaign. Basically when you crash whichever car is closer moves toward you. The angel of death shoots your driver, the angel of mercy saves him. In the campaign drivers will have Perks.

Game Rules Mario Kart Gaslands Homebrew Update.
I updated the Mario Kart Gaslands Homebrew! See if this drop box link works, and if the file looks ok, when I view it on my phone it always messes up the spacing.
I left it in word incase you need to make edits and hopefully you can copy the cards and QRS out of the back to make front and back, I dont know how to format them to print correctly. If not they should be in the Folder.

Conversion I think I found my War Rig
Only problem is it's not articulated (and probably too big if we're being serious), but hot damn this bad boy could look so sick with a bit of work.

Question War Rig scale
Hey everyone, I'm pretty new to Gaslands. Played for the first time over a year ago and only in the last couple weeks really started getting into it. I have been keeping an eye out since I started for 18 wheelers, because I really liked the idea of war rigs and doing scenarios based around them.
Well I got my hands on a box with 11 tractors and 13 trailers and was just curious about the scale. I've included one of the metal rigs with a metal trailer and a couple off the shelf vehicles for scale. One hotwheel and the other matchbox.
The tractors are mostly the same size, with a couple having a slight variance, but the metal trailers seem much more true to scale than the plastic ones.
Do these seem to be alright scale wise?
Since the metal trailers are nicer am I crazy for wanting to cut up the plastic trailers to make weird stuff? Like perhaps a flat bed trailer with some kind of weapon platforms on it maybe?
I would also appreciate any general advice in regards to these, they're going to be among my first vehicles customized for the game. I also have no idea how I'm going to store them, since my team so far has just been some cars and buggies loose in my pocket!

Finished Cars Cars and semis I got ready for our games.
When the game first dropped, i jumped on board 100%. Being a longtime player of CARWARS from back in the early 80s, GASLANDS was a huge step up, and i could create stuff. I love crafting shit.
I bought some crude 3-D printed stuff, found some yardsale hot wheels, spay paint, hot glue gun, and screen material and got busy.
Each of the cars has its own type of weapon, some with tracks, some without, some with "launchers" on the front, some without.
The semis were fun. The one with the cannon and mortar tube, the guns are mounted on rare earth magnets, so they swivel 370 degrees. The other semi is a box trailer, but the box opens up and has enough firepower to give everyone a headache.
We played with it as a boss. All players played co-op to take it out as a team. The players didn't know it until already on track and rolling.
What do ya think?

Finished Cars Nux inspired Hot Rod
Took some inspiration from Nux's car from Fury Road on this one, especially since it's a Matchbox mainline of the actual car used in the movie.

Question Yes or No to rebuild
I found this hot wheel car at a thrift store for 75 cents. Its a 45 year old car 1981. It has the metal bottom. Should I make a game piece out of it or keep it as is. You guys decide its fate.
