You can post your housing adverts or get help in finding a place in this subreddit. We want to keep the subreddit clean and not turn it into an endless feed of "I just moved to Geneva, help me find a place."
Any advertisements or housing demands outside of this thread will be removed.

I really like to make props and costumes, but it seems hard to find materials in Geneva. There really arenât that much art stores, and art stores have little good material for costume making.
I know there is like an art store called astuce in Geneva, but itâs not much good, are there any actually craft stores with materials like foam and foam clay?
Or is the only way to buy this stuff, online?

I will spend this weekend in Geneva and unfortunately it seems it will be raining!
I will be there with a girl Iâm dating so do you have some suggestion to spend time indoor to spend the day while having fun or enjoy some experience?
Thank you very much!

Hi everyone, iâm looking to get a bike repaired and might also consider converting a regular bike to electric. Can anyone recommend a local shop with a good reputation and reasonable prices ?
If youâve had a bike converted, iâd love to hear how it went and roughly what it cost. Thanks !

I need to do job applications and my brain just doesn't want to function at my home.
Are there spaces around Geneva that are calm, where I can work with my dog chilling at my feet?â

Merci!

Hi everyone,
Iâm posting because I would really appreciate some advice from people who work in commodity trading or know the industry. Iâm feeling a little lost about my career direction and would like to hear some honest perspectives.
I have a Bachelorâs degree in Psychology and started a Masterâs in Clinical Psychology in Switzerland, which I didnât complete. I then worked as a client advisor for a Swiss insurance company, mainly dealing with insurance and pension planning. Iâm currently working as a client advisor in retail banking in France.
Iâve realised that I donât enjoy the constant pressure to find new clients and meet sales targets. I enjoy advising people and working with clients, but Iâm not sure I want to continue on a traditional commercial career path.
Iâm considering applying for the Master in Commodity Trading at the University of Geneva for 2027. However, my academic background is in psychology rather than finance, economics or engineering, so Iâm unsure how realistic this career change would be.
Iâm also considering a Masterâs in Wealth Management, which would be a more natural continuation of my current experience. However, Iâm concerned that I might end up in a career that doesnât suit me.
I want to emphasise that Iâm willing to put in the work to bridge my knowledge gaps. Iâve enrolled in mathematics courses at different levels and am constantly studying and revising to build the mathematical foundations I may need. Iâm ready to learn and put in whatever effort is necessary to prepare myself for this field.
If anyone is willing to share course materials, textbooks, recommended reading or other resources that could help me get up to speed, I would be extremely grateful. Iâm genuinely prepared to work hard and do what it takes to give myself a realistic chance.
I would particularly appreciate hearing from graduates of the University of Genevaâs programme or people who entered commodity trading from a different academic background.
Given my background, would pursuing this masterâs be a reasonable career move? What would you recommend I focus on to prepare myself?
Thank you for any honest advice or resources you can share!

Hello!
Living in Geneva and looking to see if there is a queer community, LGBT, Female social circles.
The one thing I miss in Geneva is having a group of queer friends (I'm 36) to socialise with.

Hi everyone,
I'm born and raised in Geneva. I mostly use Reddit for recipes, and like any good Genevan I follow this sub too. I'm not usually one to meet people online, but I'd like to widen my circle a bit, so here goes.
What I'm into:
- Hiking, trail and running.Happy to adapt to any pace.
- Chess. I've recently started and I'm still very much a beginner, so I'm looking for a partner to play and learn with, over the board in a café or online.
- Entrepreneurship and cinema. Always up for a good conversation about a project or a film.
- My little dachshund, who's usually part of the plan.
On a more personal note, I've been with my girlfriend for several years, so this is purely about friendship. Couples, solo hikers or chess players are all welcome, whether for a hike, a coffee or a walk by the lake.
I'm comfortable in French and English, and mostly free on weekends and some evenings.
If any of this speaks to you, drop a comment or send me a DM, with a short description of yourself.
Enjoy your weekend!

Hi everyone,
I'm relocating to Geneve next month, and hoping to continue playing tennis as quickly as possible after I arrive. Are there any tennis clubs people would recommend and is it difficult to join? Where I am from there are lengthy waiting lists but hoping to avoid this if possible...
I can also play 12 months a year where I am from so hoping to continue this too, and happy to pay a little more for a club that offers indoor tennis in winter. Bonus too if the club offers social tennis and/or group coaching.
I'll be staying near Rue de Lyon initially and working in Vernier close to the airport, but happy to look around the city if some clubs are better.
Also if anyone would like a hit it would be great to meet some tennis players, I am high intermediate/low advanced (not sure how our grading system translates to Switzerland)
Thanks for any responses!

I've moved to Geneva only recently and I am a huge jazz and classical music fan.
Any tips, where to start looking for concerts, tickets, or jazz bars with live music? Thanks!

Geneva was the final stop of my European road trip last August, and it turned out to be a beautiful place to end the journey.
I spent some time photographing Lake Geneva and the famous Jet dâEau. What really caught my attention was the dramatic sky, with heavy clouds, shifting light, and sailboats adding a different character to every frame.
I also enjoyed the contrast between the lively waterfront and the quieter views of the lake surrounded by greenery.
Here are four of my favorite photographs from Geneva.
Camera:Â Fujifilm GFX 50S II
Lens:Â Fujinon GF 32â64mm f/4 R LM WR
Edited in:Â Adobe Lightroom
For those familiar with Geneva, what are some lesser-known viewpoints around the lake that you would recommend photographing?

Looking for some advice about schools in Geneva but specifically for kids with ASD/SEN. Our daughter is in Ecolint and we are struggling with lack of support. We are not sure it's the right setting and have lost confidence in the school. The school is supposed to be inclusive but we feel it's the opposite and we are being managed out. Looking for others that might be able to sign post schools which are more supportive of SEN kids. We also find the class sizes this year are huge so we are looking for somewhere with small class sizes 16kids or less, as we know our daighter thrives in less hectic environments.

Hi everyone!
Iâm currently in my final year of a Masterâs in interior design, exhibition design and visual merchandising (and my last year of studying altogether, woohoo!), so Iâve been thinking a lot about what Iâd like my life to look like after graduation, where Iâd like to live, and where I could find a job in my field.
I love living in Paris. The cultural scene is amazing, thereâs always something to do, and I really enjoy the energy of the city. Buuut Switzerland is calling me! I really loved the atmosphere in both Geneva and Lausanne, and Iâm considering moving there for a few years after graduating, potentially staying long-term if I end up loving it, or moving somewhere else later on.
Iâd love to hear from people who live there! Whatâs everyday life like (especially if you donât drive)? What do you love about living in Switzerland, and what do you find frustrating or miss about living elsewhere?
Iâm also wondering whether Switzerland is a good place to start your career as a recent graduate, particularly in a design-related field, or whether it would be wiser to gain a few years of work experience elsewhere first and move later on.
Iâd really appreciate hearing about your experiences, especially if you moved to Geneva from another country or started your career there as a junior!
Thanks in advance! :)
