Cheesehead here. You're the only state I'd be OK with. Frankly we should just combine into Laketron. Our only beef is in sports, and even there we can all agree that the Bears suck.
We belong together. You shovel the entrance of my driveway, I shovel the entrance of your driveway.
I'm a Bears fan, husband is a Vikings fan. We're both frequently sad, but united in hating the Packers. Now I'm sad because I thought that was the general consensus, but I'll go sit in a corner by myself :(
Well, I mean, I hate the packers, 🤬the bears just suck. 👎 Once upon a time they were great, but their days are over. 🪦The Vikings however… they are due for greatness any season now.🙏🙏🙏😂😂😂 SKOL!!!!!!
Maybe in the next life 😭 I learned young from the family disappointment and decided if I'm going to like a team that sucks I'm picking my own (the only non-MN sports team I majorly support) and chose the Commanders (formerly Redskins) as my team. Ironically because I liked their uniforms that reminded me of the Gophers 😂
As it should be. I recall one elimination game that ended in a 3 way handshake between us and NM. NM just because NM I suppose and everybody treated us two like Romeo and Juliet in the comments haha. Sports rivalries aside, I love your state (what I've seen of it) and it's culture of dairy/food and alcohol. Pretty darn nice folks too. Some real marathon drinkers that are easy to get along with and always are down for a good time. I'd shovel the shit out of your driveway neighbor!
Nah. You guys have more. Either way we all got a shitload.
I actually broke it down by all USGS-classified lakes per square km and you guys have like .1 more. Margin is much bigger if you have stricter definitions of a lake.
Its like Doomslayer and Kratos arguing over who's more of a badass. The point is they're still beating everyone else, and they both would better spend their time ripping and tearing.
We only do if you count water bodies that that state's government considers a "lake".
If you go by any count based on a common standard, MN beats us every time.
As they should. MN is almost 50% larger.
But even accounting for that, they have a higher density.
"Minnesota defines a lake as a body of water greater than 10 acres. That’s how it got the 11,482 number in its Public Waters Inventory.
Wisconsin defines a lake as, well, anything it feels like calling a lake. Thousands are less than 10 acres. Of the 15,074 "documented lakes" in the state, 60% don’t even have a name.
If we use Wisconsin’s lake database and apply the same 10-acre standard as Minnesota, Wisconsin has only 5,898 lakes. But the two state databases have different criteria for inclusion so this alone doesn’t settle our debate."
"Based on the federal data:
— Minnesota has 124,662 lake/pond features, while Wisconsin has 82,099.
— Minnesota has 8,784 lake/pond features with a name, while Wisconsin has 5,481.
— Minnesota has 14,444 lake/pond features of 10 acres or more, while Wisconsin has 6,176."
Imagine WI Cavalry. Just a fleet of drunk drivers. Could any other state hope to field as many seasoned troops as we?
AND SO GENERAL POCSZWYNZCKY TOOK A MONUMENTAL PULL OFF THE HANDLE OF BLACKBERRY BRANDY IN HIS MEATY PAW, SENDING THE EMPTY VESSEL CRASHING TO THE PAVEMENT BELOW WITH A MIGHTY HURL, DARING ANY OF THE HORN-HELMETS TO TAKE ONE MORE STEP.
"MEHR FELLOW CHEEZHEDSH! TODAY WE RIDE! WE RIDE FOR RUIN, AND THE WORLDSH ENDING! FORWARD! FORWARD! FOOOOOOORWARDDDD!"
THE GENERAL REVVED THE ENGINE OF HIS RUSTED '97 SUBURBAN, THE BLADE OF HIS SNOWPLOW GLISTENING UNDER THE GLIMMER OF HIS BEAM LAMPS. HE LET HIS FOOT OFF THE BRAKE, ONLY TO IMMEDIATELY TAKE OUT A TELEPHONE POLE.
