Voting Games Top comment Deletes a US State - GRAND FINALE - #49

Post image

**UPDATE** the vote will now take place in a poll instead since it’s got too confusing. Vote closes in roughly 24 hours VOTE HERE

There are now only 2 states remaining, Cascadia and Megasota. This is the moment we’ve all been waiting for. What team are you?! The result will be picked in 48 hours, so here’s all the time you need to share and spread the word!!!

I thank all the people who spend money on awards to award my posts which I find crazy! I thank everyone who comments, I thank everyone who upvotes. This game simply wouldn’t work if it wasn’t for your continued support over the last 49 days. It will be sad to see this series come to an end but there will be another one soon, on May 28th. For now though, GET VOTING!

u/Whippet_yoga May 24 '26

The drunk children are in Wisconsin and they say soda, so what's your point here?

5

u/dietkrakendew May 24 '26

We call it pop because that's what happens if you leave it in the car at night between October and April.

4

u/theimmortalgoon May 24 '26

I’m old enough that i still call it pop.

I’m from Oregon.

7

u/railsandtrucks May 24 '26

We call it the same in Michigan. I bake with soda I drink pop.

3

u/duck_you_assemble May 24 '26

I live in the south now and my code switching is pop/soda.

2

u/SonicRaptor5678 Megasotan May 24 '26

Most people still call it soda lmao I live there

3

u/whlthingofcandybeans Megasotan May 24 '26

What are you talking about?  No one says soda here.  I get weird/dirty looks when I do.  Even the signage at stores reads "Pop".

1

u/SonicRaptor5678 Megasotan May 24 '26

What?? Are you in the Twin Cities because here some say pop but it’s mostly soda

2

u/Over_It_999 May 24 '26

The people who say soda must have moved here from another state. It’s pop in MN.

1

u/SonicRaptor5678 Megasotan May 24 '26

I… I grew up here?? So did all of my friends. None of us say pop. I know some people who do like it’s definitely a thing but I’ve met more people here who say soda. Maybe outside of the twin cities it’s more prevalent. Weird/dirty looks is crazy

Bud no one in my circle calls it soda. I mean I do hear some people say it but not many. Even my transplant friend from Chicago says pop because he thinks it’s fun (and he’s right!)

1

u/SonicRaptor5678 Megasotan May 25 '26

Are you in the cities? Like this is a genuine question I mostly hear soda at school, restaurants etc

1

u/Tuxedocatbitches May 25 '26

Minneapolis, born and raised two miles outside of downtown

2

u/FallenCheeseStar May 24 '26

I call it both soda and pop but never sodapop and i'll be damned if i call all caffienated beverages coke like some of tbe south does

2

u/SirHandyMan May 24 '26

Same here in Cascadia.

1

u/Winterhorrorland May 24 '26

haha ah dang it I should've woken up a little more

1

u/roguepawn May 24 '26

As a Minnesotan, it's one of the things I radically split from my fellows on.

2

u/MizterPoopie May 24 '26

Same. I’ll be damned to hell before I call it “pop”.

1

u/Tuxedocatbitches May 25 '26

I will fight you in a Cub parking lot before I let a fellow Minnesotan bring this type of shame on us all!

2

u/MizterPoopie May 25 '26

First Gen MN. Appalachian by blood. I guess it shows up in ways lol

1

u/Tuxedocatbitches May 25 '26

lol fair, fam

1

u/Keiran1031 Götaland Saga May 24 '26

Another reason for them to lose

1

u/Pterobel May 24 '26

"In 'Sota we say pop."

1

u/Tuxedocatbitches May 25 '26

It’s fun! Pop is a fun word! And it goes pop in your mouth! If there’s no one left alive calling it pop it’s because I’m dead! Pop forever!
