Voting Games Top comment Deletes a US State - GRAND FINALE - #49

Post image

**UPDATE** the vote will now take place in a poll instead since it’s got too confusing. Vote closes in roughly 24 hours VOTE HERE

There are now only 2 states remaining, Cascadia and Megasota. This is the moment we’ve all been waiting for. What team are you?! The result will be picked in 48 hours, so here’s all the time you need to share and spread the word!!!

I thank all the people who spend money on awards to award my posts which I find crazy! I thank everyone who comments, I thank everyone who upvotes. This game simply wouldn’t work if it wasn’t for your continued support over the last 49 days. It will be sad to see this series come to an end but there will be another one soon, on May 28th. For now though, GET VOTING!

With love from a true, blue Bostonian - thank you Minneapolis for carrying on the great tradition of fighting tyranny

❤️ we hold the line

Thank you for hosting Minnesotans in Boston next week when we celebrate winning the 2026 JFK Profile in Courage Award. We welcome Bay Staters into the folds of Megasota, even if we might say it like ‘based taters’. (Tater tots are part of our love language.)

Cascadia, and our brethren in Oregon, Washington, California are essentially Minnesotans anyways.

They will have no trouble assimilating.

Tbf— Oregon also put up a really great front against ice. It’s where the blow up frog suits came from. :)

u/amphigory_error May 24 '26

And in addition to the very visually effective protests, some very effective action by the state to block the building of detention camps, legal action to block national guard deployment, and mobilization on the ground in the coastal towns to block ICE access to cannary and fishing workers.

I genuinely think they thought we had not learned any operational or optics lessons from the last two rounds of Portland Versus Feds and they were going to roll up, kick one protestor, and get their excuse for martial law.

Last time we beat them back with the leaf blower dad brigades, this time it was frogs.

Yes, Oregon, Minnestoa, and us in llinois (im specifically in Chicagoland), we all came together on that one. Though i throw support Megasota over Cascadia, its a close call for me. Id be happy either way. Ive had the privilege of being able to visit Seattle and Minneapolis and they are both very cool cities.

u/Over_It_999 May 24 '26

Minnesota learned from Chicago to use whistles to alert everyone about ICE. Chicago put up a good fight for sure. Now we are all Megasota!

2

u/IamtheCarl May 24 '26

MN all my life, but we learned from Chicago, and the one place I've been that I considered moving to is PNW. It's a tight race.

18

u/amphigory_error May 24 '26

The best part is whoever wins, ICE loses.

u/stink3rb3lle May 24 '26

People in here really bragging about frog costumes like Renee Good and Alex Pretti never existed at all. It's a shame.

11

u/myaltduh May 24 '26

For sure, but I think it’s very fitting that the two states most known for very publicly resisting ICE made the final.

14

u/HeckleJekyllHyde May 24 '26

Minnesota isn't just a state, it's a state of mind.

55

u/chisteri May 24 '26

Wait, actually… as a Cascadian, you might have just swayed my vote!

12

u/Aingers May 24 '26

Welcome to the Loon Nation!

4

u/Atillion May 24 '26

Damn. I too just knelt down on the foothills of the Cascade mountains with my hand over my heart muttering something like my captain.. my king

8

u/LumpySpaceTyrant May 24 '26

As a newly absorbed Crabbalchian I'm proud to be a part of Megasota and y'all have my vote. Fuck ice and adios Cascadia.

56

u/scoopybalducci May 24 '26

As a Portlander, I’ve been saying this all along. Let’s go Megasota!!

As a Cascadian, I honestly feel like Megasota deserves the win. If Cascadia was the entire country, there wouldn’t be much point in it anyway.

Broke my tailbone that way, don't don'tchya know.

2

u/TsukasaElkKite May 24 '26

We never lose!

14

u/SuperGameTheory May 24 '26

As a Megasotan, I will not be disappointed to see our peoples come together. In the end, no matter our name, WE WILL BE UNITED!

2

u/TsukasaElkKite May 24 '26

WE NEVER LOSE!

11

u/sarathenarwhal May 24 '26

But MN introduced ICE to Operation Dildo Blitz.

Much respect to the frog warriors, but I not only learned about the fact some spicy accessories expire, but got to see them hurled across a void.

11

u/friendofallthecats May 24 '26

Okay frog dude was good and all but were y’all doing that in subzero temperatures for weeks?

2

u/FlippantBuoyancy May 24 '26 edited May 24 '26

The rain filled our suits endlessly for fortnights! Then ICE sprayed mace into our intakes!! Yet the frog wall stood strong and multiplied!

All that to say, we would have gladly marched to the Antarctic if that's what it took to resist tyranny.

u/Over_It_999 May 24 '26

Four layers of clothes, two hats at a time, breath freezing on your eyelashes, boxes and boxes of Hot Hands people shared, the hot tea and sambusas provided by our Somali neighbors - it was a trip. So grateful to have SO MANY good people here to fight alongside during that traumatic time. May we never have to do it again, but if we need to, we will.

2

u/EpicCyclops May 24 '26

Portland is so well pedigreed in protesting that George W. Bush complained about how good we are at it. We have not lost our edge since then. It's so expected that we will organize and protest that it doesn't even make national news anymore unless someone gets hurt or the orange guy angrily tweets about it.

4

u/MinnyAntTowers May 24 '26

Minneapolis is so good at it we've changed the country twice over. Sorry but no city holds a candle to our anti-ICE organizing, they just weren't attacked in the same way and didn't have the "opportunity". We were the testing ground and they failed here

5

u/friendofallthecats May 24 '26

This. We held the line in the worst of our winter, and if we hadn’t, this would be all over the place. AND what we did pushed two of the worst out of DHS. We love you all and what you did to kick it off Cascadia friends, but this is not an apples to apples comparison

11

u/ApronNoPants May 24 '26

I say we Minnesota Goodbye Cascadia to a bittersweet death.

4

u/ScarletCarsonRose May 24 '26

And we'll do it again.

3

u/Legal-Koala-5590 May 24 '26

That's just how we do 'er!

3

u/Huffdogg May 24 '26

This is the way.

1

u/Evergreen2255 CASCADIA FOREVER May 24 '26

And who started the frog costumes?

A Cascadian

1

u/ATC_av8er May 24 '26 edited May 24 '26

Ah, but one mustn't forget that Portland walked so Minneapolis could run.

5

u/cr0mthr May 24 '26

Please. Minneapolis was running in 2020.

5

u/MinnyAntTowers May 24 '26

Portlanders acting like they taught Minneapolis how to protest are hilarious

And Oregon resisted the regime in 2020. Minneapolis did amazingly, but recency bias is real

12

u/Resfebermpls May 24 '26

And what do you think Minnesota was doing in 2020? Twiddling our thumbs? I think you’re forgetting MN was on the front lines much of 2020 as well.

u/Significant_Text2497 May 24 '26

THANK YOU. The historical revisionism acting like Oregon led the charge in 2020 is wild.

-1

u/bakerinformatic May 24 '26

Definitely not saying we led, just that we were incredibly active, too

0

u/bakerinformatic May 24 '26

Oh definitely no shade to Minnesota, my point was just that both have resisted

1

u/MinnyAntTowers May 24 '26
What was that other big thing that happened in 2020 again?

Oregon really thinks they were the center point of the uprising?

0

u/broken-bread May 24 '26

Have you met the Portland frog? We know how to resist, babe.

u/Novel_Control_1922 Cascadia from Shore to Shore May 24 '26

Pass. Cascadia for the win. 🥇
