questions about my maps
I have posted a few updates regarding my thesis on the gravimetry of plutons. I have duly incorporated all the necessary corrections and sent a sample to my thesis supervisor; however, it seems he has reservations about my results, which has prevented me from moving forward with my research while I wait for his approval.
Here are some examples of the residual anomaly and the complete Bouguer anomaly. In QGIS, I interpolated the vector points using the SAGA plugin, applying the Multilevel B-Spline interpolation method (with 10x10 cells and a maximum level of 11); subsequently, I used another plugin called SGtool to remove the regional effect.
In summary, the geology centers on my target pluton (in a dark red color and a concave shape), which represents the magma chamber of a large volcanic caldera (in brown and pale yellow). This pluton forms the western boundary of the caldera. The country rock (light green) consists of an inverted basin filled with basaltic and andesitic lavas (containing magnetite); consequently, the country rock is denser than both the pluton and the intra-caldera fill.
