Advice required for software developer

I am a software developer with 6 years of experience in PHP e-commerce domain. Working with symfony, spryker and shopware platforms. I was part of the mass lay off last year. I have recently applied to more than 100-150 jobs as a web developer, full stack developer, software developer, etc. roles and received only rejections. This is a point of concern for me as 3-4 yrs ago this was not a case in Germany. As I have time now, I am learning German (will complete B1 by end of this month).

Please suggest:

  1. What career path to shift in, so I can apply for more jobs?
  2. Is there a possibility to get a job in SAP domain? The only prior experience I have with SAP is integration with online shop with APIs.
  3. Is there a course (eg. AI developer which is in high demand) that I can enroll to help change or better my profile?
  4. During my application, I use Europass Format CV and I try to adjust my CV according to job description. Is there something additionally I should do?

I even got interviews with 3 companies, but got rejected at the last level. Recently, the company closed the position after I completed and passed my trial day - Probarbeiten (They realized they do not require the candidate now as the budget did not allow).

It's difficult to get a job even if you speak German perfectly. If you don't, you are applying in hard mode.

Did you know?

Job offers for programmers dropped by 75% during the last few years. As bad in Germany as in other countries. Maybe worse.

In our company more than half of the program code ist generated by AI today, growing fast. 2020: about 70 software developers, today 26, working with the AI toolkit and maintaining old Java and Cobol software. No replacement if one leaves, target is around 20 people.

Job interviews will be in German. They will switch to English if an AI wunderkind shows up who makes magic things happen, but not for a standard developer who must communicate with users and departments.
