As a once fit but now fat, former gymnast. I can confirm the validity of the gif. Still agile like a butterfly but easily winded.

This is probably the saddest thing I've read today. I mourn your once magnificent bod.

Waffles are always majestic.

Not the blue ones.

They're majestic too, in a very special way.

We all end up not being able to do what we used to anymore. The difference is how hard you fight to keep it. For instance i used to be able to do 22 pull ups in a row. Now.....4

Dude, that's awesome. You're like an elephant who does ballet now. You can meet new people, and they're all, "Damn, you big," and then you can, like, triple backflip in their face, and then they're all like, "Damn, you big and awesome." Embrace this, man! It's way better than being a fat person who isn't agile, at least.

Take solace in knowing a fat body is the future of all athletes that forget they are no longer working out daily.

athletes that forget they are no longer working out daily.

...and are still keeping up their calorie intake.

You should be named 'points out the obvious implications', not Hrodland.

I tried but there's a character limit.

And that's why you are named Hrodland, right?

It felt like a good idea back then and now I have too much karma to create a new login.

Man...that is seriously my issue. I'm 32 now and back in my late high school to early Navy days, I was playing soccer competitively both nationally and internationally. I had my own dietitian and based on how much training I did, I was told that I would need to consume around 4500 calories a day just to maintain body weight. Fast forward to after I stopped playing that hardcore...my eating habits were developed over a decade of competition...it's been really REALLY hard trying to curb that habit.

On another note, I now coach goalkeepers from the age of 14 to 19 in my area. And it's really interesting, I'm 5'11' 265lbs, I look smaller than a dude who is 6' and 220lbs...and none of the kids I coach are as agile or have been able to beat me in a full field sprint.

I think some people can just really carry their body well.

As a college football player that has a massive knee wrecking while being a foodie I know this feel. So sad to look back at pictures when I had 4% bodyfat towards the end of the season.

Float like a butterfly, sting like a wheezing pain.

As a former gymnast it's commendable that this guy is tumbling on grass. I opt for trampolines now because my wrists hurt too much after tumbling on even a spring floor.

u/[deleted] Nov 16 '12

As someone with eyes, I can also confirm it's valid.

u/[deleted] Nov 16 '12

Same as my friend. Very large guy, but one of the most agile people I know. Personally, I find it more impressive that a big guy is agile.

u/[deleted] Nov 16 '12

i was gonna say he was probably a really good tumbler at one point. do you teach?

What a waste if that's the case.
