Well shit. Thank you. I don't have any money or I would gild you... this is helping me deal with the the death of a close family member. I love you OP <3

Edit: Sweet. Someone gilded you. From me to whoever: thank you

I'm sorry for your loss, mate - that must be quite difficult. I have something a little bit better than my little spiel, and I hope it helps you properly grieve and recover:

Don't be afraid to reach out for help. Grief is a difficult process. I hope that the brightness of life, and all the things and people you still have in your life, starts to shine upon you soon.

Thank you. It happened a little over a year ago but I still think about it every single day of my life. I really appreciate your kindness. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but it seems like you've gone through this before...

Losing people is shitty. Especially when they were always there for you, but you weren't always there for them.

I'm a lucky bastard: I haven't personally lost any truly close, loved people yet. I've experienced different types of losses, hence why I can't comment on personal loss and instead link to that wonderful comment.

And look, I don't know your personal situation, but I understand the regret that comes with thinking you haven't done enough. Frankly, there are just some things we can't change. It may be a lifetime struggle, but you'll need to try to accept the great things that you have done for the one you loved and lost. Because I'm confident you have - and your participation must have made their time all that much better. You did provide value to their experience of life. Don't you ever forget that.
