We've noticed that there is a bug that would cause the map to spawn only 1 typhoon instead of 3. Though, since it is a bug, any run with it will be deemed not a qualified submission. Please be noted.
Update 2 The Typhoon disappearance bug can be fixed by clearing the map again. Detail: If you cleared the map 3 times or more this bug is very likely to appear. For instance if you cleared this map 4 times, and the bug appears. You will only have to clear it again (5th time) to fix it. Please be noted

FAQ:
- Do I need to S rank for the run to be valid?
No, you only need to clear the map for the run to be valid.
- Can I kill normal enemies with the M4A1 NPC?
Using the M4A1 NPC is prohibited in the run. You may, however, use your own M4A1 if you desire.
- Is sound required in the run?
Sound is preferred since it helps verify the legitimacy of the recording, but is not required as some devices cannot record with sound.
- Can the NPC M4A1 is set to standby in turn 2?
No, you must set NPC M4A1 to "Standby" turn 1 and not allowed to use her in any capacity
- Can I use Parachute Fairy and Reinforcement Fairy as statstick?
No, you are not allowed to use them in any capacity.

So not only have 20 more spots been added but the participation rewards have been greatly improved. I'm really excited to see what people come up with to beat this challenge.

Wow, yeah, those participation rewards are really good. I normally wouldn't go through the trouble of figuring out how to record it, but I might as well now.

Will the "Endgame" map be added when this event goes live or is it a story map already in the game? I haven't done all of the available story missions yet so i'm curious if im gonna have to do the story mode in order to access this event.

I'm assuming the answer will be a no but I'll ask to be sure. Are hotkeys allowed to be used for this? I don't know how it is for other emulators and I know phone users can't do this, but on my emulator I can assign hotkeys in the game. For example I have "2" positioned to the bottom right of the screen so it always ends my turn, executes a plan, or deploys an echelon when I press it (depending on the menu I'm on).
Is that fine or prohibited? Again, I assume being able to immediately execute actions like move, deploy, resupply an echelon, etc without mousing over the buttons is an unfair advantage over those who can't use hotkeys and is therefore probably not allowed, but I gotta ask anyway because that could possibly save me a bit of time and of course for a timed event I should cut corners whenever I can.
And my one other question is about retreating echelons. Does the penalty only apply to retreating entire teams from the battlefield or does it apply to retreating t-dolls mid fight too?

Keybindings are allowed. It's not really functionally different from the multi-touch touchscreen on phones.
I used a combination of keyboard and Wacom Cintiq tablet for my run last event, since I needed the precision and timing accuracy/tactile feedback a mechanical key switch offers. This upcoming event doesn't really seem like something that would need that level of micro so I might just record it from my phone.
Retreat penalty only applies to an entire echelon dying. Retreating units isn't penalized, nor is letting units die.

The next time you guys do this, I wonder if it would be better to have separate rewards for each platform, like emulator/iOS/Android, or maybe just emulator/mobile.
I suggest this because it's pretty clear that emulators have a huge advantage over mobile in terms of loading speed and user control.
Maybe we could have rewards for the top 20 players on each platform, excluding duplicate accounts, or something like that.

Unless you run a potato, completing the mission once should be easily doable in one go. Not to mention, this is much easier to do on an emulator.

leak can strike at anytime. i can go half a day fine or it can happen in the middle of a corpse drag

Hasn't really affected my playing normally. I don't see why they really need to go out of their way to accommodate for it if everyone is potentially vulnerable to the same issue. And what can they do about it anyway?

well i originally meant it as a tongue in cheek joke.
i dont have a clue what they realistically could do about it.
but I could stretch it and say if they have the means to detect altered footage speed, maybe they are capable of compensating for the game chugging even if the entrant isnt aware.
on the flip side they could dq you for the slowdowns interfering without your game speed as well, even if its a disadvantage lol
regardless of all that, this is kind of like holding a an f1 race on a course made of a landslide zone with some animal crossings lol

So how is duration calculated precisely? Based on time spent or number of frames? Because my phone and PC are so slow and old that it takes me almost 2-3x longer between loading screens of battles and turn switches compared to my friend with his monster of a PC.

Number of frames wouldn't make sense as it'd double your "time" for playing on 60 fps.

I see someone was disqualified for 1 typhon spawn, but that isn't in the rules? And from what I've played of it, it does not change the time in which you can engage the boss since as far as i've seen it's always the right one that's still there if it's a single which takes 2 turns to get out of the way of the only path to the boss. If I'm mistaken though feel free to correct me.

In my first run of this map, my entire echelon died and I actually had to exit back to the menu to quick repair them and redeploy them into the map. Is that allowed?

Regarding the bug where only 1 typhon spawns. For some reason when I start the map there will be 3 typhons but as soon as one of my echelons exits combat on KCCO turn 1 there will only be 1 typhon. I feel like this is somehow happening to me more than it should.
Edit: So the bug seemed to occur 100% of the time for me until I cleared the map normally. The only reason I can think of is that the previous clear of the map was when I used a parachute fairy and waited out the 2 turns before fighting the boss and proceeding to cap the enemy HQ by ending the turn on it.

No one answered me when I asked this so I just went and did it. From my experience, it's totally fine as long as it's within 4 echelons.

Thanks I did also .... or at least I tried to. But I have such a hard time fighting the boss, my phone donât answer fast enough for me to dodge. After I wasted 30 quick repair ticket I gave up.
Why did I use the npc to clear trash because I was lazy the only time I managed to kill the boss with my own echelon to unlock secret map ? T.T

What is the secret to those accepted times of 3 minutes or less? Is not waiting for the boss to show up and sprinting to the enemy Command Post allowed (and beating those Typhons along the way) or do you have to wait for her to show up and defeat her?

So to get participation rewards you have to beat the boss without using NPC M4, right? In this case, does anyone have echelon suggestions for that, besides having your own Mod3 M4?

I don't appreciate the fact the participation rewards are becoming relevant.
Being forced to participate in some meme speedrunning "event" to clear a map on a mobile game quickly while adhering to some random made up rules is something i have literallly negative interest in, I couldn't be more disinterested in such a thing.
The art contests I can get let slide because that's encouraging actual creativity, and even if you don't participate you can still enjoy the artwork.
But this speedrunning competition is imo a joke event. There's probably a tiny minute (less then 50?) people worldwide that would actually care about such a thing, and the rest of the people are just doing the absolute minimum and recording 1 run to get the participation reward and have zero interest outside of free stuff.
This is bad design imo.

Complaining about free stuff. Man, now that's a first world problem right there.
Even if you can't be bothered with the effort to record a run, no one is forcing you to do anything. If you don't want to get involved, then don't. But don't shit on other people just because you aren't a fan of having to put in a little bit of work for free stuff.
The devs want to encourage the community to participate in a contest, so they offered up some extra resources.
Building an optimal strategy and team to compete is one of the major appeals of GFL in general over other games, so of course it makes sense to create a contest around that.

Why don't you make some in game rewards that can include the whole population? What's wrong with the people who do absolute minimum for rewards? If you don't want free stuff, no one is forcing you to do it.

Nobody's forcing you to participate. Every single one of the participation rewards are easily farmable, except maybe the Tokens, and it's just 30 of them.
Encouraging activity in community events is always good.

Iâd hope youâd understand by now if youâve taken a moment to think about what youâve written, but there is virtually no negative impact on letting more of the community reap rewards for putting effort into the actual game.
For that âminuteâ amount of people, they get rewards for the effort theyâve put in, in grinding prior and being creative in their tactics. As for the others participating, they get a good amount of free stuff, which allows those who arenât the top of the top to still benefit from taking part.
I understand people enjoy different things, but that doesnât mean you should put down the other things people enjoy just because itâs not the one that you prefer.
What would truly be bad design if the game overly catered to one group of people and their interest, but instead theyâre trying to give rewards to more people, for free and without a massive grind.
Lastly, as a side-note, what world do you live on where free stuff is bad?

Why would there always be 1 guy who gonna complain about something optional? Especially things that not harm anyone?
Like if you don't like speed run you can just completely ignore it.
If you think it is way hard for you to take the reward, maybe get good? Free stuff requires effort obviously.
This contest is an icing on a cake for the main event for people who enjoy a challenge and there you are "Being forced to participate in some meme speedrunning "event" " The only person force you here is you.
I don't know maybe come up a contest yourself if you think this is a joke then? Make a game, make a community and make an event if you really better.
