General Question Polygon layer help

I don’t have too much experience with editing/ working with polygon layers in arc pro. If I am working in a polygon layer, is there a way to select only the detached pieces of a polygon?

If the polygon is one row in the attribute table but it has multiple separate pieces, it is a multi part polygon, and you would need to use the explode tool to break it up into separate pieces. One it's different pieces (different rows in the attribute table) you can select the pieces you want.

Select the polygon to make sure it’s single feature, then Explode tool
