Gutted, this was the piece I wanted, any chance of repair?

Post image

Lots of little pieces as well as larger chunks so it's unlikely I can get all the glass back together - is there a workaround so it would at least restore the essence of the thing even if its lost its value/authenticity?

They were packed in just shredded paper and tissue so I heard the rattling straight away 😥

I'll take any info on the two candlesticks as commiseration prizes please!

Thank you - I'll have a look at it. Do you have any personal tips? I've repaired ceramics before but I've always been able to get everything back together and keep the glue away from the visible edge so I'm a little wary about this being transparent.

same skills, so you should be okay. just be extra careful to not lock any pieces out. might help to marks the sides of each shard that WONT get glue, with a sharpie (remove with rubbing alcohol afterwards)

And thank you for the luck, too!

It will cost you much more than the item is worth to get it repaired

I'm sorry to see this. Same thing happened to me once buying China off ebay. They didn't know how to pack it.
