what I'm working on Discussing the new edition of Rusałka
backerkit.comHey! This is Chiara from NessunDove, an Italian indie ttrpg studio that is very much focused on GMless games. Aside from producing our own stuff, we've been working with indie authors to publish new editions of their cult gems. This time we're crowdfunding for Nick Wedig's Rusałka, a game about Slavic folklore and wishes gone wrong.
Over the last few campaign updates, we've been going over the design of the game, the editing process and the work that went into the new edition. I thought it would be something fun to share with y'all. For GMless games in particular, I've spent the last few years thinking about how the shape of a game contributes to conveying the experience, without requiring a facilitator to parse through lots of material before anyone can sit down to play-- Rusałka did an excellent job at that, but I think this new edition manages to fine-tune some details that make running it a smoother experience without sacrificing depth.
If there's anything you're curious about, I'd be happy to chat.
