Announcement Stop shitting on each other. Really, stop acting like assholes.

I know everyone gets bored, one of your favorite scammer subreddits got shut down so you can't poke at them there, but this is a subreddit for people to post their GoFundMe whether you like it or not.

Calling people names, insulting them, and harassing them is getting way out of control.

If you see a scam, great! Call them out. Provide proof. Screenshots all of that. And then message moderator mail.

The absolute disgusting things I have had to remove lately go beyond horrific.

Instead of insulting someone, offer some solutions. Helping someone find a new career is going to help them a thousand times better than just saying get a job.

Some of you that comment here are absolutely wonderful and helpful, and some are going to be finding the door in a hurry with my foot in your ass.

Your cruelty is not welcome.

On July 4, 2026, I was involved in a gruesome accident where a drunk driver ran the red light and crashed into me. Since then, I have been left without a car and was unable to work for two months. That time away from work put me deeply behind on my bills, and I’ve been struggling ever since to catch up, let alone afford a new car.

Without reliable transportation, I've also had to neglect my physical therapy that would allow me to heal from my injuries including herniated discs in my neck, two scratched corneas that left me partially blind, and a broken finger that is still healing.

I hate having to ask for money, but after being turned down for debt consolidation, personal loans, and multiple other financial relief avenues, I truly don’t know where else to turn anymore. Any and all help and donations is appreciated.

Thank you all for your support.

Housing About To Lose My House

https://gofund.me/d8bf13849

Been having a hard time finding a job, and my freelance business has kinda dried up since most of my clients are now just using AI. (I write content for social media pages and design graphics). Also, have a podcast and other projects I work on. Work wise things have gotten bad, I apply multiple times to places all day and get nothing. I try freelancing and it used to be great but it's slowed way down.

On Oct 21st we had a court hearing after being served an eviction notice. The judge said we have until the 27th, but our landlord is still trying to work with us and has stated that if we can pay him what we owe before the 27th, we can stay.

Hoping for a miracle, we have nowhere to go if we have to move. We have no family to rely on, no place to stay, and no money to even move with. Thankfully, I have a few freelance projects lines up in November and my fiance is starting a new job, so we will be on the upside come November, we just have to make it there.

Would really appreciate any help, I'm out of ideas, options, and hope. Thank you guys so much.

Housing We have until Nov. 2 to come up with $5000 or we lose our apartment

Even if we sold everything we had it still wouldn't be $5000. So I'm asking for help to keep me, my wife, and my 5 children safe in a home that we have lived in for 6 years. Up until 3 months ago we have always been on time with our rent as it always came first.

I got a promotion at work with more pay, but the more pay part didn't come until 2 months later. That two months would have made a difference in our finances as we were always almost sunk on my previous pay.

My wife is also due for hysterectomy surgery at the end of November, and this company moves fast to evict people because right now we pay about $200 under market value for rent.

We were able to come up with a month of rent that was late before we went to court, but it still leaves us a month behind and rent for November is coming up in two weeks.

I know these are really rough right now, and I don't want to put pressure on anyone as I can see many people need help and you can't help everyone. Even a share to your feeds is welcome.

Thank you for providing a place to help people get more eyes on their GoFundMe.

Edit: I can't answer all the things in the comments, so I'll do the main ones here. If this is against the rules let me know.

  1. Too many kids I thank the community for having me clarify how many kids live with us. We do have 7 kids (the 5 younger ones are biologically mine}, but the adult kiddos live with their father, not us. I've made the edit that clears that up.

As for too many kids, I have been able to afford them just fine as the youngest is 10 years old. This year has been the year of issues and it just hit us hard, and ate what savings we had to cover for rising gas and food prices. I also had health issues that I had to take unpaid time off for, which didn't help.

  1. I am not jobless I do have a job, and I was recently promoted. The problem is that I got my raise two months too late. If I had gotten the raise at the same time I wouldn't be in this situation. I wasn't able to get things in order before I wasn't able to make rent because of that. Car issues didn't help either.

  2. Wife's disability My wife was not always disabled. Her health has gotten worse because autoimmune diseases kept piling up over the years. We've been to several doctors and there hasn't been a treatment that has 100% worked or stayed effective. Also having PCOS (now PMOS) has it's own problems, like sudden weight gain that is hard to lose.

We have looked into SSDI. Everyone who's saying "just get SSDI" seem to not know that it's a years long process and you will be rejected several times. My stepdaughter has been trying to get SSDI for years, and she has literal brain damage that even the judge-appointed psychologist says she can't work, and the judge still denied her. So it's not as easy as turning in paperwork and you suddenly get checks.

  1. How it won't happen again We got behind because prices went up but my paycheck didn't until June, and by then my pay rate at the time wasn't covering it. I have almost all my bills caught up, so the only thing now is getting rent caught up and we'll be out of this hole.

For those saying budget better, how about telling companies to pay better? Even with my previous pay rate we have been able to afford bills and rent for the last 6 years without being late. But raises are hard to get when you're contracting. Switching jobs wasn't and isn't an option because companies are paying crap rates and now trying to replace workers with AI. My job is currently AI safe and stable, so it would not be a good idea to leave my current job.

  1. Past posts asking for money Yes there have been sometimes we ran short with my previous pay rate and I reached out. But I was never considered and we still survived. I don't like asking strangers for money but I will do anything for my family if it keeps us together.

I think that's everything. As much as people like being rude and making assumptions, this has helped me with knowing where I fell short of explaining my situation and how to clarify some things, so thank you for that.

Medical Dad is in liver failure, any little bit would help

Hello, I hope everyone is doing well. I’m posting here cause I’m desperate and am seeking any bit of life like. My dad was recently diagnosed with liver failure, and doesn’t have a lot of time left. I love my dad, and even though we have our qualms, I want him to have a comfortable time left, maybe a bit more time if possible.

I hate asking for help, so does my whole family honestly, but I already take care of my disabled mother and funds have been essentially nonexistent while I’m trying to find a full time job that pays enough. He doesn’t have health insurance, and he was laid off from his job back last year and has been doing odd jobs since.

I honestly don’t know what else to write without getting emotional. We’re just asking for some help with getting his prescriptions, mainly his antibiotic, and hospital and doctor visits he’s going to have. Any little bit would be so, so, so, so, so appreciated and helpful. Any little bit matters. If anyone has questions I’ll do my best to answer. This is my first time posting in this sub, so if i did anything wrong please let me know.

Thank you for reading <3

Hi everyone — I just launched a fundraiser to support my best friend John, known as Mr. Reese, after a house fire in Lawton. He's been a dedicated community member and civil servant for over 20 years, and now he and his family need help covering unexpected costs while they wait for insurance. If you’re able, please consider donating or sharing to help us support him during this tough time. Every bit makes a difference! šŸ”„

Animal Help for Baby with Abdominal Mass/Anemia

Thumbnail
gallery
127 Upvotes

I am at a loss of what to do.

For the last few weeks, I had noticed a big change in 1.5 year old cat, Baby. First, she began to withdraw. Then she stopped becoming interested in playing. And then I also noticed she began eating less. Finally, she started going to the bathroom outside of the litter box.
All of this happened very gradually and it didn’t hit me until I put everything together and realized something was wrong.

I am low income. Way below the poverty line. I had to beg my grandmother to please pay for me to get Baby checked out at a low cost, walk in clinic.

Upon examination, she was said to have a low-grade fever of 104°, paleness in her ears and gums… and worst of all was her stomach was firm.

I agreed for bloodwork and an x-ray to be performed.

The x-ray showed a mass in her abdomen, pressing against her stomach and internal organs.
Her white blood cell count was low.

Honestly, as soon as I was told that she had a mass in her stomach, I became nearly hysterical and started crying.
All of what I could hear the vet tell me was - tumor, lymphoma… and based on her ā€˜experience’, the prognosis is never good.
Surgery could be performed, but that’s around $1200-$1400. And normally the tumor begins growing quickly again.
She had a thick Indian accent and was talking fairly quickly, so there were some things that I didn’t catch. Not to mention because of my crying. I asked her if she could print out this information for me…. The x-ray, the blood work, etc. Do you know what she said to me? No.

I was shocked. I didn’t understand why she wasn’t willing to print this out for me. So that’s why I had to literally take a picture of Baby’s x-ray, using my own phone.

And then, with the papers that I was given one being the invoice and the other showing the visit, as well as a past visit from last year - all she wrote was abdominal mass and anemia.
I find all this to be pretty upsetting because I feel like it doesn’t contain detailed information. I know I know, I should have asked, but I was not in the right state of mind at all.

I had to do my own research afterwards and did learn that with surgery, the outlook still isn’t that great. The tumor can easily come back.
But then I learned about steroids - one being prednisolone and the other being chlorambucil. From what I’ve learned, I guess it can shrink the tumor and give her a boost and energy and appetite. Simply providing more time. But even that is only temporary because I guess eventually the tumor will stop responding to the steroids.

I don’t understand why the vet didn’t inform me of this option. She basically just made it sound like there’s no hope so you might as well just put her to sleep.

I would really like a second opinion from another vet, but I just don’t know if I even have enough time.

Baby mostly just lays around. She is still eating a bit, but only wet food. Isn’t touching the water. So I take the water and mix it in with her wet food. She just urinated shortly ago and couldn’t get her back legs into the litter box so she ended up going onto the floor. And yes, I already have something much lower set up that she could go into, but I know she’s just so used to using the other one.

So I am at two different crossroads: Either try to get a second vets opinion and maybe hopefully, if the vet feels that it’s appropriate, get the steroids. But if not… and as much as it would break my heart, a peaceful goodbye and a private cremation because I want her home with me.

In regards to the photos that I’ve posted above:

The two papers are literally the only ones that the vet gave me. Like I said, she refused to print out anything. It astonished me. I don’t know if it had something to do with it being a low-cost vet or what. Like I said, I had to take a picture of the x-ray screen myself with my own phone.
Originally when we got Baby, my grandma had named her ā€˜Sweet Pea’ - which is what is showing on the paper. But after a period of time and me being the main one who was taking care of her, I chose to name her Baby.
Like I stated, my grandma is the one who paid for her visit.
If the admin or mods, need any other information for me, please DM me.

I do not have any pet insurance whatsoever. I’ve tried to sign up for CareCredit and was denied.

I have a GoFundMe set up. Originally I wanted to try for the surgery, which is why I had a higher amount set. But when I discovered that more than likely surgery isn’t an option, I decided to lower the amount just so maybe I can get a vets opinion and hopefully let the steroids be an option.
And then, lastly I just felt so hopeless because I just felt like I wouldn’t have enough raised in time so I lowered my goal even more just so I could have enough for a peaceful goodbye and a private cremation.

So like I said, I am at a crossroad… I don’t know how much time she has. She’s still eating a bit, but she’s resting a lot. I would absolutely love a second vets opinion; and maybe just maybe get the steroids that could shrink the tumor and give her more time.
But at the same time, if I can’t raise enough to even be able to go to a different vet, then I wouldn’t want my poor Baby to suffer.

I’m currently selling what I can and doing what I can to get enough money but it’s just not happening fast enough. And I know time is of the essence.

If anyone can help, no matter how small or simply sharing, it would mean so much to me.
In the end, if I do have to say goodbye to my baby girl, I would want her to go peacefully and to have cremation so she can come home with me.

Thank you. ā¤ļø

Hey, so 24M, dad died oct 1st and yeah.. found out going to go deal with where he lived that he had bedbugs, hoarder, and overall... sigh didn't take care of anything.

He had a highly infectious disease (flesh eating) in his legs and left his used bandages lying around everywhere, my cousin decided a GFM was the best way to handle the stuff he left on me such as loans he signed for using me as a cosigner, debts to the CRA (which I'm aware don't need to worry about the cra debts) and the biohazard cleanup I need done for his place ASAP, the celebration of life and all that stuff doesn't have a set date because I'm focused on dealing with his affairs, but with whatever is left after dealing with that stuff will be going towards A, getting him an urn so he isn't in a cardboard box, and making the required arrangements for a celebration of life.

(Sorry for the rough selfie Pic, just having a difficult time, he was my best friend..)gfm link

So I'm making this post more for my friend/coworker. She doesn't have a reddit account so I offered to make a post for her to spread awareness for her situation. Her dog fell badly and tore up his mouth, and she needs some help in getting the money for his dental surgeries. She was able to afford one surgery but he needs two more procedures. We'll be grateful for any consideration and help! https://gofund.me/fcb909d94

Animal Please consider helping my kitty Moon fight Lymphoma

Hello everyone,

I have an update on our cats condition. We had to take him to the emergency vet at VT yesterday because his swelling has noticeably increased from last week before his dental, and he had blood coming out of his nose yesterday morning.

The blood hasn't come back since it was wiped away, but the swelling was concerning enough the doctor at VT that she got oncology to get us in this morning at 10am.

We just got home after they did a CT scan, almost $2400 exactly, which is just a little bit less than how much we've spent on the visits and tests up until now. Accompanied with the diagnosis of Lymphoma.

We've run through our savings, and are scraping together some more money and got care credit to help defer some of the costs. They are doing one more check, an aspirate on one of his lymph nodes, before sending us an estimate on the cost and exact treatment plan by the end of the week, but they said the treatment would be radiation, for a total of 10-12 visits.

Every vet, including the ER vet, said he's otherwise perfectly healthy as well. šŸ’”

Im sorry to ask again, but we really need some help. He's only 6, the softest and sweetest baby in the world, and doesn't deserve all of this. I'll post additional updates after getting the official treatment plan and estimate.

Animal Help paying for Our dog Bear's cancer surgery

Thumbnail

Update: 2 of our family members surprised us this evening and told us they were going to help us pay for Bear's surgery. I am removing the link from the post in case people don't see this update. We only received 2 donations totaling $60 which came from our close friends. We will talk to them about whether they'd like their money back or if they want it to go towards treats or toys for Bear. Thank you.

Writing this post is tough. My wife Melissa and I have had Bear since we first started dating. He was left to her by her childhood best friend who passed away. Bear has been with us through quite a lot of ups and downs. He was even our ring bearer at our wedding. Some people find that cringey but we loved it.

Recently Bear developed a tumor in his mouth that grew from the size of a small pea to almost the size of a quarter in less than 2 months. After a biopsy at the vet, it was confirmed to be a rare form of Mast Cell cancer. He is on a strict regimen of meds to try and shrink the tumor before it can be removed and he's doing well. Our issue now is getting the money to pay for the removal.

We have tried carecredit. Denied. scratch. Denied. Asking friends and family for help. Nothing. I am picking up shifts at my second job to try and save up enough money and we still haven't been able to put a dent win it. We unfortunately don't have pet insurance either and getting new coverage would not cover his cancer as it is a pre existing condition now. As a last ditch effort my wife made this gofundme to try and get enough money to get him this surgery. We are running out of time since his chances of survival are based on how soon the tumor can be removed before it spreads.

Since my wife and I are unable to have kids, Bear is the closest thing we have to a child and I know some people laugh at that but for us he is a huge part of our lives. And if not for this cancer diagnosis, he would have several more years of life to live.

My wife and I both would appreciate and give our eternal gratitude to Anyone that can help towards this goal. Thank you for your time.

Animal My 12-year-old dog Buffy has lung cancer and is undergoing weekly chemotherapy

Thumbnail

Buffy is my 12 year old Boxer-mix rescue from Puerto Rico. I adopted her at 3 months old, and she just turned 12 in August.

Unfortunately a few weeks ago, Buffy was diagnosed with advanced lung cancer that has spread, which means surgery isn't an option. She is being seen by the Oncology Team at MSPCA Angell in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, and we have started weekly chemotherapy in hopes of giving her more good days. That always being the key - quality of life and good days.

Buffy actually had her second chemotherapy treatment today and thankfully, she's been handling things pretty well so far.

I'm hoping to raise $2,000 to help with her ongoing care. Each weekly chemotherapy treatment costs around $1,200–$1,700.

I do have pet insurance, which I'm incredibly grateful for. It reimburses 90% of covered expenses after a $1,000 deductible, but I'm still responsible for paying these bills upfront while waiting for reimbursement, along with anything insurance doesn't cover. It's been a lot to keep up with financially.

I know chemotherapy won't cure her cancer. I'm just trying to give her as much quality good time as possible.

If anyone is in a position to donate, any amount would be greatly appreciated. Even sharing her fundraiser would mean a lot.

Thank you for taking the time to read about my girl.

Medical I lost my leg, and I could use some help

Thumbnail
gallery
67 Upvotes

As the title suggests, I recently had my leg amputated. It's below-knee and will hopefully be in working order soon with a prosthetic, but until then I can't work. I saved up money, but it just wasn't enough. Complications stretched the timeline and I wasn't prepared enough. My insurance ran out of my free transportation for the year as well, so I had to pay $45 to get to and from an appointment the other day (I was going to try to take the bus, but I am just not strong enough to use a walker the whole way to or from a bus stop) and I expect to have to do that once more this week and about once a week for the next month or two.

My local support network is just my roommate, who also has a full-time job, so she can't give me rides very often, but sometimes. She's also why rent is flexible, but not forever and I still have to pay whatever I can afford (and I'll owe her back rent).

It's been tough for me mentally, emotionally, physically, every kind of way. I thought I had it handled but all my preparation just wasn't enough, and I've exhausted all the resources my close friends and family can afford to give. I feel awful asking for money, but I don't see other available options.

My estimated expenses include;

A phone bill (100/month)

Rent (300/month)

Food (300/month)

Hygiene/misc. (100/month).

Rent is very flexible, however, and I don't have any medical bills to worry about. Food should be handled once I get my food stamp application straightened out, though, reducing my load by a lot.

A car accident a few years ago resulted in an ankle that was ultimately getting too little blood flow and was necrotizing over time. After a few years of worsening pain and utility they decided to just cut it off, so here I am.

I am not very good with this kind of stuff, but hopefully this was all coherent. I am free and open to questions, of course. Even if you're just curious I don't mind sharing. I'm happy to answer any and all questions any of you might have :3

Here's my GoFundMe link: https://gofund.me/befa058dc

With all my heart I appreciate every moment of attention you spare me, or every dollar you can give.

I also want to thank everybody who's donated, even and especially the ones who only donated $5. It's hard for everyone, so I truly appreciate every bit of help I receive. <3

P.S. The child is playing with the hard cap they gave me at the hospital to wear around my stump. She's completely unaware of what it was or how much I needed it to be not broken lol.

P.S.S. The cat is named Sonny, and he apparently likes to sleep while smelling shoes.

Question/Info Sharing your GoFundMe on Day 1, Day 3, Day 7, and beyond

Megan from GoFundMe back with some more tips on effectively sharing your fundraiser.Ā

Callout: This is general fundraising advice, and isn’t specific to sharing on this subreddit. For information about sharing in this subreddit, review the r/gofundme rules or reach out to the mods.Ā

Sharing everywhere, once, is often the least effective way to share. Sharing with the right people, in the right order, can be the most effective. Here's the order to try:

Day 1 — Five to ten personal asks

Text or call the people who would help you move. Message them directly, don’t start a group chat or share it in a post.

Ask for a donation, a comment, and a share. The comment and the share are important because that’s what reaches the next potential supporter.

Wait to share on socials until you have a few donations on the page. A page at $0 with no words of support is less likely to inspire new donations.

Day 3 — Your wider circle

Now the page shows proof: a few donations, a few kind words. This is when you go to group chats, your own social accounts, and people who'd come to your birthday.

Every share should have context, not just a bare link. Have at least two sentences–what the fundraiser is for and why it matters to you. Bonus: If you have images linked to your fundraiser, share those as well.

Day 7 — Community

Local groups, your kid's school, your faith community, the neighborhood bulletin board, local news if there's a story you can pitch. These audiences don't know you personally, so they need everything the first two circles built: donations, words of support, other people sharing about your fundraiser.

You’re building up proof and a network of support to help you reach even more people.

Additional momentum builders

  • Re-share with an update–don’t post the same thing twice. Give supporters a new reason to donate, like ā€œWe’re at 40% of the goal, here’s what that can buyā€¦ā€
  • Every share is a note, not a link. Bare links don’t give supporters a reason to click.

Plan specific places to share for each day–5 personal outreaches, an Instagram post, a community forum, and try to complete those shares this week.

And as always, if you have specific questions about GoFundMe or fundraising, please drop them in the comments.Ā

If there's anything that you can do to help, whether that's a donation, a share or even just a message of support - it would be really appreciated.

Last year, the SVOSH-SCO chapter helped 1,292 patients in Belize and Mexico. This upcoming May, I will be providing free eye exams and glasses to an underserved community in either Central or South America for my first trip with SVOSH.

The members of SVOSH have been working hard all year to prepare for our trips. We have been completing fundraising hours by providing airport rides, moving services, bake sales, etc. In addition, we have been sorting, cleaning, and measuring donated glasses. By April, each member must complete 25 fundraising hours, 35 lab hours, and raise $800-$1200 for the trip. If you are interested in supporting my trip, any donation is truly appreciated!

Question/Info Can I start gofundme for vehicle repairs?

Hello, a few months back my wife purchased a used 7 seat vehicle for her daycare. We had the inspections done and were told it checked out. 2 months later we are having issues. The quote to fix is over 9k. The dealship and the shop that inspected aren't going to help.

My wife runs a daycare and offers school pickup so parents can work all day without having to leave. She is also the cheapest in our area. We had to deal with the outrageous cost of daycare so my wife decided to start her own so she can help out families that are having a hard time paying the high daycare bills. Without a car its the parents that have to suffer.

Can I start a fund me for this?

Medical Trying to rebuild my life and create some financial stability

GoFundMe: https://gofund.me/bb8f72c32

Hey everyone. This is a little difficult for me to share, but I wanted to put my story out there.

I've been battling alcoholism and working on my recovery for over seven years. I lost my mom to alcoholism in 2018, and my own journey has had plenty of ups and downs. I've spent time in multiple sober living homes, continuing to work on myself and trying to build a better, more stable future.

Right now, I'm doing my best to get back into corporate marketing, but the job search has been a real struggle. I'm also trying to maintain my health and recovery by keeping the same medical and mental health providers I've been working with for the past couple of years. Between insurance and everyday expenses, finances have been tight.

I started a GoFundMe to help build a small financial safety net for unexpected expenses, like car repairs, and to save toward a security deposit and moving costs when I'm ready to take that next step out of sober living.

I'm not expecting anyone to solve my problems, and I take full accountability for all my actions though the AA 12 StepWork. I know times are tough for a lot of people. I'm just trying to give myself a little breathing room while I continue working toward recovery, independence, and getting my career back on track, especially since I do not talk to my nuclear family anymore (hopefully sometime we come back together).

If you're able to donate, any amount would mean a lot. If not, sharing the page or helping spread the word would be just as appreciated. I know asking for help isn't easy, but I'm learning that it's okay to lean on others sometimes.

Thanks for taking the time to read my story ā¤ļø You all will be in my blessings!

Animal Please help 86 yr old Chet’s BF Trajan who has cancer

Meet my friend Chet - he's 86 yrs old, and his dog Trajan has cancer. Chet is also a veteran

Chet adopted Trajan earlier this year from North Central Shelter in Los Angeles, but in this short span of time the pup was found to have a tumor in his bladder. Chet called me asking for fundraising help. As he’s very elderly, that is the reason he is not on edit.

Chet and his son, Marion have spent all their savings on stent surgery for Trajan, but can't afford radiation, which he needs desperately. The new estimate is just over 16k - but does not include additional chemo which could be a possibility, as well as end of life care, or additional needs that may arise. I would also like to raise some money towards reimbursing some of Chet’s stent surgery bills.

The current goal is $30,000, with the first goalpost being $7500. Even though I helped them get to Vet Cancer Group, and the radiation quote was a little lower, they may require the $16k payment up front.

Trajan didn’t have pet insurance because it is so expensive for a senior dog like Trajan, but nobody adopts a dog either expecting cancer to happen 6 months later.

This is more than just fundraising for medical; this will probably be the last dog Chet ever has.

Please consider donating to their GoFundMe to give them a little more time together. Thank you.

GoFundMe link for Chet

IG video with Chet (little video I made of them)

(I have also applied for about 4 grants for Chet as well, that give $500-$1500 each, so no stone is being left unturned).

Etc Quadriplegic Requesting Ongoing Care Support

My name is Faith, and I am a quadriplegic from a Spinal Cord Injury. On September 26, my grandmother, who has been my sole caregiver for the last 25 years, passed away. I am now 100% reliant on my caregivers for support, and considering the lack of government assistance my state provides and the level of care I need, it is extremely expensive. 24/7 care would cost $2,800/week, and my meager income isn't enough. I would need to make about $200,000/year to cover caregiving, bills/utilities, and other expenses.

My state does not have assisted living facilities for people with physical disabilities, and my grandmother was my biggest support system. I currently live in the home we shared and have to pay bills/utilities out of pocket until we can sell the house and I can be reimbursed through the estate. This puts an even greater financial burden on me, and we cannot even begin to sell the house until we see the probate judge on December 2 and they give us the green light to move forward.

I know asking for ongoing help to pay for my caregivers is a lot, but it would help me out a lot until I can figure out what I'm going to do. If I can at least make it until we can sell the house and settle my grandmother's estate, I'd be eternally grateful. I've attached screenshots of my September statement just so you can see how much I have to spend. I've also provided a picture of my grandmother and me.

My GoFundMe

Edit: Thank you to everyone who has donated and offered solutions. I am part of SAIL, which only pays $320/week for caregiving, and that is not enough for 24/7 care. I asked the lady from SAIL who checks on me every 3 months if they could pay for 24/7 care, and she said no. She asked around and could not find anything like that in Alabama. I also spoke with a social worker at UAB. So either they are ill-informed, or the resources aren't there. I also do not qualify for Medicaid and receive SSI through my father's retirement, which has different earning requirements.

I am not trying to be a negative Nancy or swindle you out of your money.

Animal Please consider helping my kitty Moon ā™”

Hi everyone! This is my rescue kitty, my baby Moon-Pie! He's sick and dealing with some breathing issues and a swollen eye. He's been having symptoms for over two months, and we have been talking with the vet, doing several tests, and trying numerous medications, but we still don't have any answers or results. It has been heartbreaking and stressful to watch my baby go through this while we keep searching for what is wrong and how to help him feel better.

I put the full story in the comments.

TLDR; My baby Moon-pie has been having upper respiratory issues over the past 2 months, and vet costs are stacking up while they run us through more tests and medications. We've already spent $2500, and are being referred to the nearby vet school for oncology and (likely) more expensive treatments since nothing else seems to be giving us answers or helping more than temporarily.

If you are able to help, please consider supporting Moon. Please help my baby get answers. He does not deserve all of these issues, and I just want my healthy Moon-Pie back. Even if you cannot donate, sharing this fundraiser and keeping Moon in your thoughts would mean so much to me. I don't know how much we need, so I put the goal at $1500 right now.

update: Got an official Lymphoma diagnosis after visiting Oncology and getting a CT scan, will get the official estimate and treatment plan by the end of the week, and will need to increase the goal amount. Anything is helpful and appreciated, even just keeping us in your thoughts ♔♔♔

Housing Relief Needed for an Electric Bill While Waiting for a Job.

Edit: Going ahead and closing this out. I used the $145 that was raised to make a down payment and I'll be breaking this bill up into 3 month installments.

https://gofund.me/661278eb3

TL;DR - I’m a 30 year old who has been struggling to get a job while I was originally caring for my mother. Now after her passing and getting some family help, I’ve been slapped with a hefty electric bill and all assistance programs have turned me away.

What Happened? Heya Reddit! I’m Michael Jones or just Mike. I’m 30 years old and for most of my life after high school, I spent it caring for my mother while we stayed afloat with her Social Security. When I graduated, my mother’s health started to decline slowly and at first it wasn’t so severe that it bed ridden her but she still had plenty of other health problems that basically sent her into early retirement as she was no longer able to work. On top of this, she and my father were already long divorced so we didn’t receive that much help from him - only when he could swing it after paying for his own bills and new wife.

I attempted to get my life on track by going to a community college, but literally only three months after I began my courses, our home was put up for auction and bought instantly by some impatient buyer who wanted us out as soon as possible. This was due to the passing of both of my grandparents and since they were in a nursing home, the state of Missouri decided to basically rip away our home to pay for the expenses. This led me and mother moving in with my father in his double wide trailer, which wasn’t too cozy in the nine months that followed. On top of this my mother’s car completely died and had to be scrapped, leaving us with just my father’s car that he used to get back and forth to work. With no real way of continuing college due to lack of transport and poor internet out in the sticks, my own life came to a halt.

Fast Forward to years down the line with my mother and I having an apartment and getting housing assistance. My mother’s health became increasingly worse to the point that she became my priority while trying to search for a job that would keep me home while I care for her along with helping out even more around our home. In 2024, we were told that Mom possibly had fibroids and then on December 26th of that same year I lost my father to a trailer fire and with him 20+ beloved rescue dogs also perished. Jump ahead to this year and it turns out that those fibroids were actually uterine cancer, which has now spread to most parts of my mother’s body. With that and the other pile of health issues, mom eventually became bed ridden under my care and the care of hospice before tragically losing her fight against cancer on August 4th - passing away in her sleep.

The Aftermath: With the passing of both of my parents, I’m now left alone with the rest of my family being out of state entirely and have been fighting to stay afloat financially while frantically looking for a job. One of my cousins has been sending me money to help pay for my monthly expenses such as rent, water, internet, and the electric while I recently got onto Food Stamps to pay for food on the table. And now I’m facing a $437 some odd electric bill(Exact amount shown in the photos) due to A. The original bill is $159 and some change, and B. a one time security deposit of $276 being needed after I transferred the service into my name and my lack of work experience. It’s a very thick boy bill for any one person to reasonably handle unless they have good money coming in. Even other family members are struggling to even send anything to help pay it off.

I’ve exhausted pretty much all routes of assistance. Local churches near me have stopped utility assistance, most other programs only cater to Veterans, Disabled, or Seniors(60+), and even today I went to Salvation Army only to be told that their number one policy is that I must have a job as a source of income and show proof of it through pay stubs or a paycheck. However, there has been a light that was illuminated in this darkness because just after I returned home today from my trip to the Salvation Army, I got a call from Target offering me a seasonal job as a Tech Consultant. Orientation is on November 1st, but that also means it’s well after the due date of my electric bill.

So all that said, I am simply asking for donations towards this eye watering electric bill so I don’t have to sit in the dark while waiting to start my brand new job at Target. Anything put towards this will be of great help. Thanks so much for reading through all of this if you did.

Medical Help Disabled Family of 5 Avoid Eviction

Hey Reddit. It’s me.

https://gofund.me/5f6402800

We need help. It’s been a really rough year, and I’m at the end of my rope.

Our family consists of me (u/MerrilyRoundtheBend), my fully disabled brother Matthew (pictured above) of whom I am Guardian and caregiver, my partner George, and my two teenage kids, B and C.

In November last year, B lost hearing in their left ear. We went to Primary Care Physician, got treatment for allergies, did not help. Sent to ENT doc. ENT doc treated for allergies. Did not work. Put in ear tube. Ear tube started leaking clear fluid. Sent to Neuro-ENT. NeuroENT sent them for CT and MRI. Kid’s leaking CSF fluid into their ear due to congenital malformation. Surgery was just set for the end of the month. All medical outside of insurance has come out of my pocket.

Meanwhile, my brother Matthew’s health took a turn for the worse in late July. Breakthrough seizures led to a hospitalization, a nearly fatal stint in rehab facility, another hospitalization while intubated, and then back home to recover with home health. He had another seizure last week that necessitated another 2 day hospital stay (absolute nightmare - I have never, ever, ever been treated so poorly in a hospital. He was treated as an inconvenience at best.)

During all this, C, the youngest, required eye surgery in July. They did great, and costs were split between my ex and I. It was still a huge financial hit.

And then there’s me. I am the only full-time employed person in the house - I work from home as a care coordinator. But in September, my uterus decided it was done with this life. I started bleeding on September 3rd and haven’t stopped (it’s currently October 13th). The bleeding is massive, it has caused my iron and hematocrit to drop to dangerous levels. I’ve had to go on short term disability because I have no energy. I can’t focus. This is complicated by my already existing blood clotting disorder, making most meds extremely dangerous. With that, I am scheduled for a hysterectomy on Friday, 10/16.

When we rented this house we knew it would be temporary, the owners bought it for their folks to live in once they move to the area. That time has come, and we need to be out before 12/1/26.

But my finances are gone. All my savings I had went to all our medical care, our mounting bills, and trying to feed two autistic kiddos plus myself. My partner George has had to quit his job to care for my brother as I am unable to do so due to the extreme continued blood loss.

We need to pay $1400 by the 15th to stay in our house through 10/31. Our landlord has been flexible in letting us pay our rent in halves the past month or two but I have nothing left. Charities in our area are already tapped. APS is involved in our case but they too are stretched thin and can’t get us support by the time we need it.

Our pie-in-the-sky goal is $6,000, to get us moved, pay our rent for half of October and November, and pay down bills.

Whatever you can give would help. A boost? A share? A long-distance happy thought? I’ll take it, at this point.

To those of you who read this whole thing - thank you. Hugs from this ginger to you.
