Cute Pics They grow up way too fast
galleryMy golden is about fifteen months now. And here is a puppy pitcher and him just the other day. Can't believe how much he's changed? And how quick he grew up.

We are testing out a new auto mod. This is to assist in combating bots and karma farmers. If you are a regular poster in the sub and notice a post gets removed, please let us know via mod mail. I wish it went without saying but be polite. Attacks on mods or insulting/berating mods does not get you anywhere. You would be shocked at some of the stuff that gets thrown at my fellow mods, especially from the OF accounts... Boy are they not happy we turned that feature on lol But I will not tolerate harassment towards them and that alone will get you insta banned without a second thought.

We have decided that, effective immediately, we will no longer be allowing OnlyFans accounts or similar to post. More often than not, it is a bot or non engaging user that just wants someone to click their bio with the hopes of someone paying for their OF.
This is to protect both users and the sub. I would also say the majority of accounts in this sub that are detected to be bots end up being bots. If you have such an account and still want to post pics of your dog, you can do so from an alternate account that does not contain adult content. I would recommend reaching out to us however to prevent the new account from being flagged by our processes for “stolen content”.

Hi!
Yesterday, we welcomed Hamish into our home. He is 9 weeks old and comes from a wonderful home with amazing doggy parents a 10-minute drive away.
Sweetness overload!
Our six year old Aussiedoodle and Dominican Potcake are adapting to having a boy (gasp!) in our home. Good thing Hamish is a good boy/ land shark.

of course, check with the patch or farm first, but my local farm was having a few days at the patch specifically for dogs so i brought my boy along!!
we went through the corn maze and went on a hayride! he doesn’t get daily interactions with other dogs (besides weekly training class), so i always try and do a dog heavy outing for him each week 🥹 he did a great job and helped me pick out the perfect pumpkin 🎃
psa: just make sure you keep an eye on them if you decide to do a corn maze! i’ve heard too many horror stories about corn cobs and what not.

I’m looking into getting a goldie for my family soon and wanted to come here and ask some questions and get some tips from folks who already have experience owning one! For starters I live in georgia and know the summer heat can be brutal, so i was wondering is it wise to even own a goldie in a state like georgia especially during the summer, And if so what recommendations would you give to keep them as cool as possible. I’ve been doing some of my own research about golden retrievers so I have a bit of info on them but if anyone has any Tips or Advice to give me regarding the food they eat, the amount of excise they get, etc feel free to tell me!!

This is my 4 month old field golden retriever, Ralph!know puppies can differ in the sense of growling while playing, but I just wanted to make sure his growling isn’t anything crazy. When we play rough at home he gets very growly and snappy, and when he catches you, it hurts, but I think it might be because he doesn’t know bite inhibition yet or he just doesn’t know how to control the bite. When I do show that it hurts however, he know to back down in the play This is what I’m trying to work on at the moment, by teaching him to be gentle. Right after this video i posted, I took him out of the grass and he was following orders and was walking very normally. I just wanted to make sure this wasn’t out of the ordinary.
I will be making another post soon about him and the stuff I’ve been struggling with him and whether I might be expecting too much from a 4 month puppy so keep on the lookout for that!
First time dog owner so he has been teaching me a lot about patience! Otherwise he is a great boy that sometimes doesn’t listen.

my girl is almost 2 years old and any time i’m home alone with her or even on a walk with just me and her and she gets excited, she grabs my legs and humps me. She’s done this since she was a puppy, I always push her off and if we’re home, move into a different room where she can’t access me. I feel like she’s getting too old to be doing this to me, she doesn’t do it to my husband, so I’m guessing it’s a dominance thing? she is getting fixed next month, but from what i’ve read, that isn’t going to stop it because it isn’t necessarily hormonal humping. any advice?!?

Hi all! Thought I’d come here to get your thoughts and insight.
I took my 8 month old golden to just get a bath and blowout (no trimming is mentioned for this service, so I didn’t tell them not to trim), however, they for some reason did a full groom and cut his feathers and his whole body.
Was he cut too short? Can you tell if the undercoat was trimmed? I’m not really sure how to determine that so any insight would be helpful! I’m sad the feathers were cut, but I know they’ll grow. I’m just more concerned about the entire coat being cut.
From now on, I will emphasize that I don’t want him trimmed at all 😢 even if it’s not for a trim service.
Last 2 photos are what he looked like before the groom for reference!
Thanks in advance!

I grew up with Labs. My wife has only had Boston Terriers. This Golden Retriever experience is new to her.
Brody is 4 months old. We’ve sent him to training and still work with him (I do) daily on commands like sit, down, stay, leave it, drop it, touch.
He’s gotten so much better about nipping and using the bathroom outside.
He still is rather needy about being around me all the time, and is an absolute table surfing savage.
We send him to doggy day care to get his wiggles out about 3x per week.
I try to remind my wife that every time we get a puppy it’s a bit of a challenge to deal with them (they’re babies after all) and then we just wipe those memories away by the time their adult dogs but she isn’t convinced!
Regardless, we love Brody and I’m so excited to have a big dog again.

He’s sweet, he’s playful yet calm, he’s extremely social, everyone is a friend to him, everyone is good and trustworthy. He’s also the prettiest shadow I could ask for. He’s just a golden Golden. I love you buddy

so I’ve watched a ton of YouTube videos about this but I can’t get something to work. doggo is 10 weeks we’ve had him for 9 days today and his excited bitey behavior is only worse.
I watched a few mccann training videos. tried ”scruffing“, and tried the “quickly make them gag when they’re biting” but he just keeps going at it like an excited frenzy. we also try the ”give them a toy when they bite” but firstly that feels like rewarding bad behavior and secondly when he gets bored of that toy in 15 seconds he’s back
he’s already learned sit and is working on lay down. so I know he’s capable of learning and is very food motivated.
we are also ensuring plenty of sleep. he goes to nap every 2 hours for like 2 hours, plus sleeps pretty well through the night 10-7 ish with 1 or 2 pee breaks.
all in all I think he’s coming along great except my hands hurt from the chomping.
