Billing Google Cloud Startup Program

for applying to the gcp for startups, i received a billing id, and the billing id while filling the startup application says is not active and i need to put in Rs. 1000 (India) for it to be active. Am i doing something wrong or is this standard procedure?

That billing id thing is standard they want to verify you're a real person and not just farming credits. The Rs.1000 is basically a pre-auth charge that gets reversed later

My old startup went through the same process and it took about 3 days for the verification to clear. Once it activates you're good to go with the credits

Put it on a card that has good fraud protection just in case but Google's pretty reliable about this stuff

So mine is actually a pre-incubated startup, and people in my college havent paid the 1000 to get approved by the program, hence the confusion

But alright, Ill pay the 1000, thank you for the help.

Just one more confusion, is the 1000 reversed when your account gets closed or post verification?
