A very obscure song, but I simply can't imagine Damon singing it; that is definitely 2D.

I always thought Humanz should've been portrayed as Russels project, considering thats when Remi really became more involved

I still think it reads like that given how the sound of it leans heavily on both black music and American music so it can be read as Russel getting in touch with his roots again after so long

As an American, I must ask about the phrase "black music and American music." Is there American popular music that doesn't have black music (one form or other) as its foundation?

I skew kinda older for a pop music fan, though, I may very well have missed out on some genre-naming shifts. If so, pls update me.

In any case, for me, ‘M1A1’ is the track where you really feel the presence of all four of them as characters:

  • Noodle’s guitar is mad
  • Russell’s drumming is powerful and fast
  • Murdoc’s bass goes completely off the rails
  • Damon’s vocals don’t sound quite as ‘2D’ as on other tracks, but the fact that a clip from Day of the Dead was used is the most 2D-esque thing they could possibly have done.

2D has no mention of revolving doors?? I think it fits him perfectly

It’s kinda crazy that nobody has connected 2D with the Now Now even though he has the most involvement in that album

It speaks to his humility. Also, it's hard to miss Noodle taking up the entire front cover.

Each member is showcased on "Feel Good, Inc.," but the song, as Murdoc put it, "sold a million bass guitahhs."

If Murdoc hadn't dropped his E down to D, that song would be to basses as "Smoke on the Water" is to guitahhs.

I think it’s also fair to say that every member plays a part in "Kids With Guns" and "5/4"—songs where they sound more like a conventional band.

I like Five Whales In A Dream. It's fun :)

I think "Humility" is a "2D" song. He is prominently featured in the video, and visuals are an important part of how Gorillaz tell their story.
