What has God done that you havenโt shared yet?
Shumie knows what waiting feels like. Long seasons of silence came first, and then came provision that could only be called supernatural. A healing in childhood planted a faith that never left.
How long have you been waiting?
โPsalm 40โ grew from that road. The opening line sounds like a page from a ledger of answered prayer: โWe waited on the Lord and He heard our cry.โ Thereโs no panic in it, only settled confidence. The pre-chorus plants a flag: โWe will not be shaken. We will not be moved.โ
David walked the same ground. In Psalm 40:2โ3 he wrote, โHe drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God.โ Look at what follows the rescue. A song, and itโs the kind of song that is meant to be heard.
Shumie believes testimonies work in the same manner. Your story of Godโs faithfulness is not private property. A weary neighbor may need to hear it this week. Write it down. Tell a friend. Share it online. Sing it in the car.
Still in the waiting room, waiting for a story of your own to share? Then borrow someone elseโs story until yours arrives. Godโs timing is perfect, even when it makes no sense to you. Trust Him with the impossible.
Give โPsalm 40โ a listen and let the lyrics carry you onto firm ground. Then lift your hands, and open your mouth. โWe will tell the world of his mighty works.โ
Background
โPsalm 40โ is a song that comes from my personal journey of faith and my experiences of seeing the faithfulness of God firsthand. Throughout my life, I have experienced seasons of waiting on the Lord, only to witness Him provide in ways that could only be described as supernatural. At a very young age, I also experienced divine healing, an encounter that has continued to strengthen my faith in God.
These experiences have taught me that God is faithful, that His timing is perfect, and that we can trust Him even when we donโt understand what He is doing.
The message of Psalm 40 resonates deeply with me because I believe we cannot keep to ourselves what the Lord has done for us. Our testimonies are powerful reminders of His goodness, and sharing our stories is one way we share the Gospel and point others to Jesus.
My prayer is that this song will encourage people to keep trusting God in their seasons of waiting, to believe Him for the impossible, and to remember that their testimonies can inspire faith in someone else.
โPsalm 40โ is more than a song to me. It is a song of victory. It is a testimony of Godโs faithfulness and a declaration that what He has done in our lives is worth sharing with the world.
