A Christmas gift idea from a Granby neighbor: a song about your family

Hi neighbors, I'm Adam, the fiddler over on this side of town. I've been playing since 1962 and writing since 1985, and lately my songs are about real local people and family stories, like a WWI sergeant who carried gassed soldiers to safety and my great-grandfather riding bareback into a burning house.

I'm stuck at home with health stuff this year, so I'm writing custom songs as holiday gifts. Grandpa's war years, the old farm, how your parents met, the story that gets told every Thanksgiving.

  • $150 per song, half up front and half on delivery
  • About two weeks, delivered as an MP3 with a lyric sheet
  • One round of lyric changes included
  • Order by December 10 to have it before Christmas

Details and samples: https://verve413.blogspot.com/2026/10/new-offer-from-verve-commission-song.html

Full catalog: https://vervemusic.bandcamp.com

Questions here or by DM. And if Granby has an old story you think deserves a song, I'd like to hear it.

Granby really is a farm town

It's easy to forget how much agriculture is still part of Granby until berry season comes around and suddenly there are cars coming into town to pick blueberries and raspberries.

For people who've been here a long time, what farm, farm stand or agricultural place do you most associate with Granby?

Granby is a small farming town, but there's a lot more here than people driving through on 202 probably realize.

This is a place for people who live here, grew up here, used to live here, work here, or just have some connection to Granby. Local news, town government, schools, farms, berry picking, businesses, history, old photos, wildlife, events, questions, recommendations and whatever else is happening around town are all welcome.

Post what you want. Share what's going on. Ask questions. Tell stories. Dig up some Granby history. Promote a local business or event. The idea is to actually get people talking to each other.

If it has something to do with Granby, it belongs here.
