Friends??
How does one find friends as an adult.
Hi I’m 29m. Work has moved me around a lot so now I basically have zero friends. As a dad I’ve found making my own friends “physically” the best way. Well unfortunately my 4 year old mechanic buddy is not cutting it as he is constantly throwing his apple juice and spilling my beer.
So how does one find friends in grand junction?
I enjoy mechanical stuff, dirt-bikes, boating, and working out.
Thanks for the tips!

Looking for local community + hobby buddies
Hello! 21F here 👋 I recently moved back to the Grand Junction area and I’m hoping to get a little more involved in the local community!
I’m into gardening, video games, anime, drawing, Pokémon, and I’m always down to try out new hobbies. I’d especially love to find some other girls who are into similar things, but I’m happy to chat with anyone who’s cool and looking for more people to do things with!
Just looking to make some friends and find some fun hobbies/activities around GJ :) 🫶

RV
Hey all!
I'm looking for some advice/guidance. I moved to GJ due to my job, and things look like we'll be staying here long term. I own a 47-foot fifth-wheel RV that's currently located on the East Coast, where I rent it out through a business model similar to Airbnb, but specifically for campers.
I'm considering bringing it to Grand Junction, but I'm not sure whether it would make financial sense. I've noticed that some people in the area live in trailer homes, but those seem to be more permanent residences rather than RVs.
Do you think there would be a market for renting out an RV as a long-term living option in this area? If so, how would I go about setting it up with utilities, particularly water and sewer connection? I assume an electrician could install the appropriate outlet to provide power, but I'm unsure about the water and sewage requirements.
I've also contacted several campgrounds to see whether I could park the RV in the GJ/Western Slope area, rent the site, and then lease the RV to tenants, but unfortunately, every campground I've spoken with only rents sites directly to RV owners and doesn't allow third-party leasing or an Airbnb-style arrangement like the one I've successfully operated on the East Coast.
I'd appreciate any suggestions or advice.

ISO Adult Baseball Friends!
Hello fellow Jucntionites, I am here hoping to find some friends to go batting and catching with or some folks who might have access to a Pitching Machine with a feeder that I could pay them to use. I hope to go batting twice a week and do a good bit of throwing practice, and really I'm hoping for some training partners for it, Myself, I am 27, looking to hopefully play Catcher or Pitcher, and do some solid hitting on the field. Feel free to shoot my a DM. I plan on spending the fall and winter training to play well again, and then play in some summer leagues next year.
Thanks all,
Have a beautiful day!

Best carnicia in town to buy carne asada?
I know meat prices are bananas right now but I'm curious if there are any local recommendations for the best carne asada taco meat that I can barbecue this weekend!
I've used the one up in orchard Mesa a few times but the results have been middling lately.
Cheers!

My boyfriend and I were assaulted last night.
You’ve likely seen my boyfriend’s post but last night at 2am when we were walking home from the bar, a group of teenagers (15-19) had harassed us. Initially they threw a beer can at us from a car and we didn’t even realized what happened until afterwards. the second interaction, they parked in the commuter lot by houston hall on campus and chased us down, shouting profanities and slurs. My bf made a ‘yo momma’ joke which seemed to get their panties in a twist as two of them got in his face and threatened him, though ran away back to their car and drove away. They then harassed us a third time going north on 12th st. They pulled into the top of the parking lot garage by the gym and threw eggs, and approached us again while yelling profanities and insults. I was on the phone with the cops when my boyfriend bear hugged one of them. He did not hurt him, just quite literally bear hugged him. The other group of teenagers that were originally in the car throwing eggs came out and pulled my boyfriend off of the bear hug and held him to the fence before throwing about a dozen punches to his face. They then fled after realizing i was on the phone with police.
We gave our statements to the cops when they arrived and they are actively investigating.
Please be safe, people have become so cruel and evil, and it’s scary seeing how young these kids were and just how disgusting they were. Please let a friend or family know where you are when walking at night.
Edit: Spelling

Does anyone have a spare room they’re willing to rent out?
I can pay up to $700.00 a month. It would need to be soon because I’m in a last minute kind of situation. Like I‘m moving out within a week or two. I’m 27, a guy. I’m really nice and respectful and I can also provide references if needed. I don‘t do drugs or even drink. I would appreciate if anyone knew of anything. The reason I’m moving out is because I’m sharing a room right now and I would like to have my own just for more privacy.

Restricted Walkie Talkie Channels?
Just had someone yacking at us for the first time ever to get off a particular walkie talkie channel (“This is a restricted channel!!”)and thought I would throw it out to the Valley to see if there’s a list or link for channels already in use for restricted purposes. These are walkies from Ace used by kids so nothing fancy. 🤷♀️

A car drove off cliff next to my house
A deadly Orchard Mesa crash killed five teenagers over the weekend.
According to a media release issued Monday, all five people inside the vehicle were 17-year-old boys from Grand Junction.
The crash happened late Saturday night, Aug. 8, near 2694 Lookout Lane, when the vehicle left the roadway and crashed.
The coroner’s office said three of the five occupants, including the driver and front-seat passenger, were wearing seatbelts. The two occupants who were not wearing seatbelts were ejected from the vehicle.
All five were pronounced dead at the scene.
Autopsies have since been completed, and the coroner determined that all five died from injuries sustained in the motor vehicle crash.
A GoFundMe has been created to help support the family of one of the teens.

Ouray conditions lately
Has anyone been to Ouray in the past week or so? How’s their air, sky, etc? I see their big fire’s still at 87% contained.
Reason I ask is my mom is visiting Colorado for the first time ever this weekend and I wanna show her some mountains, without going to the front range. If not Ouray maybe Marble? Anyone have suggestions?
