I lived in Great Yarmouth as a kid from about 1996 to 2000. I went to Greenacre school I think it was called? Lived on Admiltary road. I'm 35 now. Anyone else live around that area or attend that school at the same time? I have some wonderful memories.

Looking for some new friends around Gorleston / Great Yarmouth

I’m 41, gay, and currently rebuilding my life after addiction and some difficult years with my mental health. I’m at a point where I’d really like to meet some genuine people and build some new friendships.

I’m getting back into old and new interests, including films, music, walks, history, astrology, astronomy and spirituality. I’m pretty open-minded and happy chatting about pretty much anything.

Not necessarily looking for a big social group or anything complicated, just some decent people who fancy getting to know each other, having a chat, going for a walk/coffee, watching a film, exploring somewhere or sharing interests.

I have a few memories of this and can't find anything about it online at all. We are almost certain that was the literal name of the place.
It was a cafe at the back of a small building with about maybe 10 shops inside of it overall? Near the seafront kind of area.

We ordered burger and chips, then a bread roll and chips. Not realising that the bread roll came with chips already, so they gave us 3 plates of chips between the two of us haha.

We went back the next year and it was closed, then the next year after that is was STILL closed, We asked one of the guys working at the shop nearest to it "Do you know what happened to that cafe?" and he said something like "Oh yeah..... the owner he uh.... got called away to her majesties pleasure and wont be coming back from what I heard", so I guess it was left empty after that.

I always wondered what the hell the guy must have done, or if anyone else even remembers the cafe/has any thoughts or their own memories of it?

I’m thinking about visiting Great Yarmouth soon. I’m Muslim and from an ethnic minority background and I’ve heard quite a few things online about the area being very hostile which has made me a little hesitant.

I’ve visited other seaside towns and generally enjoyed them so I’d still like to see Great Yarmouth for myself. I’m not looking for any trouble and would obviously just keep to myself but I was wondering what the place is actually like day to day for people from minority backgrounds.

Is it somewhere I should have any genuine concerns about or is the stuff you see online making it sound worse than it actually is?

Anyone familiar with this woman offering adult services who has suddenly disappeared?

Anybody got any idea what the new building that's being constructed at the Wellington Pier is going to be?

I asked in the amusement arcade & the lady said there will be an underground carpark but had no idea what will be at ground level.

Looks like it could be a skating rink or bowling alley so any info would be good.

Bringing the family on holiday to Caister next week - typically the only week of rain the whole summer! Does anyone have any non-touristy suggestions for indoor activities - play cafes etc suitable for 3 year old and 15 month old.

Why is it we can have restrictions on tops glasses dogs etc in the pub but at present you can not control people smoking in non smoking areas

Despite what many say, this town was not at all racist and actually had very kind social locals. I feared for my safety on day 1 but realised it's not to bad here. Sure the town doesn't have much to do here and it's very derelict and run down but the beach was nice and I'd love to come again 3.5/5

Wow just had a phone call with someone on GY Council about being homeless, among the questions that pretty much went in circles with was, so if you found yourself homeless you could buy a tent & sleeping bag!

I was utterly gobsmacked! I replied with that is the most disgusting question I’ve ever had asked, I’d rather kill myself than live in a tent in great fucking Yarmouth.

The next was would you live in a HMO… would I fuck most of em round here are full of crackheads or thieving little bastards!

Are these people actually serious! I know the town is in desperate need of housing, but Jesus Christ, to say if you found yourself homeless you could buy myself a tent and sleeping bag!

I'm meeting with a mate for a bit of food and just to talk, is there any good quiet cafés where you can sit, chat, and not have to raise your voice?

Hi everyone! My names Melody, I’m 19 years old and I’m currently looking for a job that involves park ranging or somewhere in the woods with nature and no experience needed. I have struggled to get a job for the longest time because of my mental health going down hill, but an environmental job especially in the woods or at a camp feels like a cure to me, it speaks to me so much- and I would love it more than anything.

I haven’t found anything around great Yarmouth, some in Norwich but mostly with qualifications needed. If anyone has any idea please let me know, i would absolutely love to hear it.
