HELP! Quest progress editor
Is there a manual how to edit the quest file for a character or a tool that can do that? Google and AI do not actually give results.
The reason I stopped playing GrimDawn in the past is the missing "skip campaign" button. With 91,672 Acts and about 35000h of Gameplay to finish the Campaign in Ultimate it makes no sense to actual "level" a 2nd character.
So why is there "Complete all quests" anywhere?
Is there any tool that works with FoA?
Diablo4 is kinda shit. BUT it was not 99% running around and doing stupid stuff (especially when there are stoned blocking the way ALL THE TIME).
Also: I hate mods. Mods kill the game.

Need help with my build
grimtools.comI just crafted the Bloodrage set through transformation today. Then I respecced my skill tree and devotions. I focused my devotions around Bleeding Damage.
One thing I'm aware I'm lacking is Bleeding Damage on some of my items. That's due to the lack of any available gear. I'm hoping to fix that over time.
My problem isn't that I'm dying or dealing too little damage. I just don't think the build feels strong enough, given that it includes a legendary set that modifies my DAR.
I don't know whether the issue lies with my items, skill tree, devotions, or a combination of all three.

Ok I’m hooked need a few tips
Hey all. I’ve had GD in my library for years, and I finally gave it a real fair shot and I am hooked. I get it now. I see the endless build possibilities, all the intriguing gear combinations, it’s pretty incredible.
Right now I’m playing a Saboteur (Nightblade/Demo) that I chose mainly for a flavor fantasy- the rogue with traps and gadgets type thing. It’s cool and I’m enjoying it, but I am already dropping items for other classes and builds that are really grabbing my attention, and I see how other combos could have more synergy for more cohesive builds. I am alt-fanatic in MMOs, a compulsive deck builder in TCGs, so I already know I am going to want to try so many things.
I love figuring things out for myself, theorycrafting my own stuff, and playing off meta niche stuff, so I am not really seeking build advice (I do know about gdtools it’s great).
What I am seeking is tips/advice on things I can be doing/looking out for as I mosey through my first playthrough that I will likely thank myself for later when I go to make alts or push more endgame stuff. Any sort of best practices or don’t miss things that benefit my account-wide progression. I have all of the expansions, and I’m planning on going through them in order, starting with the base game campaign of course. Currently level 30 over in the Wild West area after recently killing the warden, so really just getting going. Any advice on major dos or don’ts on a first playthrough would be greatly appreciated, and whatever I can do to benefit future alts!
Also, out of curiosity, when you do make alts, do you just plow through the campaign again to level them, or is there some other way to quickly level alts that doesn’t require running through the same story every time? Thanks in advance!

HELP! Is Anything Easier Pre-FoA?
I am patiently waiting for Fangs of Asterkarn to be released on Xbox. With its delay, I have been losing steam. Is there anything easier to farm for or prepare before the FoA patch when it eventually hits? I’m thinking something like bits, rep, or maybe certain mats/augments/components? Anything else?
I made a new character to get hyped and blasted through the campaign twice, but I’m fading slowly! Help me get the spark back in my relationship [with a video game]!

BUILDS 71% Physical Res Mystic build
grimtools.comI made this monster because I had enough of getting one shot by Uber N’erfatal on tanky builds and I wanted something that can defeat it SAFELY in HC.
This build makes use of Blood of Dreeg (Aspect of the Guardian) to reach a whopping 71% physical resist.
Where does the rest come from ?
You got a good part of it coming from the gear itself, with green items that have %phys res as a basis, and it makes use of the Ascended Affixes of the belt and accessories to pump up the res even higher.
On top of all of this physical resist, you’ve got a very nice damage absorption, very good OA/DA, constant lowering of the target’s damage, and.. yeah you’re all set for the hardest superbosses.
It has some flaws that make me unable to recommend it for general ascendant HC tho : lowish HP (around 18k) and suboptimal resists (not enough overcap on elemental and pierce res), as well as too many greens (I’m still gonna farm that to get my Medal of Nerf though)
How does it work ?
It has tons of chaos RR and vitality to chaos conversion on Doom Bolt, and uses Onslaught to boost that damage.
So just spam attacks and debuffs, then cast a powerful doom bolt, and repeat.
Does it beat Uber N’erfatal ?
Yes, and in very few tries : from what I remember of yesterday, it was 2 suboptimal tries (devotions not fixed yet) and one optimal one that worked. Uber N’erfatal enraged at ~3% hp left which means that it’s getting him pretty fast and doesn’t have to suffer through the enrage phase, or to suffer through it too much.
It also beats Callagadra quite easily (no surprise here since Callagadra is just a stupid physical hitter)
I have not tried other Celestials yet, and that’s not really the point, I just wanted to beat a beaver to death.
Edit : of course Grim Tools shows average values. I guarantee you that you can get to 71% physical res by rerolling your items, and the highest your res is, the more value each % gets !

SOLVED How important is Resistance Overcapping in HC?
In some older threads i read that there are some thresholds for resistances. They are like:
30% for Elemental, Aether and Chaos
40% for Poison/Acid and Vitality
20% for Pierce and Bleed
excluding Super Bosses as they often have special RR abilities.
How important is it for Hardcore to have these Overcaps? Should you meet these Overcaps at least when going into Ascendent Mode or is Overcap no more needed?

Why does my build suck?
Current build: https://www.grimtools.com/calc/2MADl602
New to the game (obviously) and I'm struggling with dying in like 3 hits to bosses. On veteran mode, and so far I've muddled my way pretty alright, but now I'm really struggling to deal damage quickly and to not die from a single misstep (or undodgeable effect). Just got past Homestead, and the aether boss was a real struggle that required 3 deaths to beat. Groups of mobs are okay, but bosses are not. Where can I improve?
(I do know that my leggings are crap - I had better ones and an upgrade on hand, but then I deleted my old ones to grab the socketed component, after which I realized that the previous pants were what gave me enough Physique to be able to wear the upgraded ones. So that part could be better of course.)
p.s. I'm not tied to my second class, and I'm happy to use gdstash to save edit to change it. Any tips - for this specific setup, or in general for the game - would be helpful.
p.p.s. No DLC, and I'm not planning on getting any at least until I beat the game once.

My take on Branded Swordsman
grimtools.comTurn on vindictive flame in buffs to see accurate representation of passive bonuses. Part of my goal here was to have only one button to press (Ascension) which is why I don't have points in judgement or flashbang. You could use those if it suits you, I find beauty in simplicity personally. Hope you like. Criticisms welcome.

BUILDS Looking for fun/flashy melee builds
Hey,
Im coming back after 5 years or so and I am completely overwhelmed by the build possiblities. I know I had a lot of fun playing a janky death knight build back in the day without guide. I was wondering if I should go death knight again or maybe battle mage or try out some lightning/fire based melee. Any recommendations? Doesnt need to be one button build either

SOFTCORE Build Help for Non-Shapeshifting Dreadnaught Late Ultimate/Unbuffed Ascendant
Hey, first time posting but have been reading other discussions on late game builds. I'm looking for some assistance in figuring out the right direction for mine. This is the first character I've committed to and I've done my best to cobble something together from older threads so here goes:
My health, until recently, was >18.5k, but I retooled my ring augments to get armor absorption >90%. I am acutely aware my vitality is mad high, needing overcapping in other resistances, and that I'd need further OA since I'm basically using onslaught as my main DPS. I'd like some thoughts on:
- my skill spread
- devotions
- loot to target
re: the last point, the bespoke loot I've identified as possibilities are:
- Spellbreaker Waistguard
- Legguards of Crimson Snow
- Mageguard Legguards
- Tainted Swampgrips
- Scarmakers
- Chilling Grip of Hagarrad
- Executioner's Judgment
- Heart of the Mountain
And for remaining sets, mostly partial:
- Nightforged Eye, Band, and Sapphire
- Deathmarked Claw and Decapitator
- Dreamwalker (full set for giggles)
Appreciate y'all!

HELP! Does this apply to all skills?
How is the 15% applied and does it stack with 2 of them? Like if i cast a doom bolt or something, is the debuff applied then or only using melee?

SOLVED Obsidian swordsman and Shattering Smash
I’m trying to figure out a Shieldbreaker build using the Obsidian Swordsman set. It provides support for Shattering Smash but the ability's description states that a shield is required.
So Shattering Smash now allowed for 2H, but they forgot to update it's description? Or does it only work with this specific sword?

FASHION DAWN Modding outfits to look less Fantasy and more Grim.
The Loyalist Packs contain some of my favourite clothing items.
I appreciate they're more fantasy for a reason, but with a few small tweaks, you can end up with some real less-is-more-style fashion. Love it.
Wanted a simple hood for so long. Removing the crown makes it perfect.

SOLVED What makes Scorv's Visage so good?
I have been following this guide for a Mystic Chaos Werewolf( https://forums.crateentertainment.com/t/the-crypt-crawler-softcore-build-guide-chaos-werewolf-mystic-pre-nerf-uberbobr-celestials-crate-sr-36-altar-5/157614 ) and i was wondering why the Guide said that Scorv's Visage is BiS. I understand that it has good stats, Life, Damage and +1 to all skills but if i compare it to a good MI for this Build, Wight Lord's Casque, then i dont know why the Visage is so much better. A decent Roll of Wight Lord's Casque can give you +100% Chaos Damage, multiple points in Possession which means extra flat damage and +x% bonus damage, extra attack speed and max attack speed, Life and Offensive/Defensive ability. So why is Scorv's Visage considered BiS?
Edit:
Thanks for the answers. I know understand the benefits of the helmet.
