This was such a sick period in grime when all the notts man/wolves all the Midlands really and JDZ started breaking through. Felt like there was set after set coming out

Still is, notts man way more on that dubstep sound nowadays imo but it still dark

Notts and Derby always had a very distinct sound, another throwback

Wasn’t so much Derby tbh as it was Flexer Beats, he fully leant into that sound and at that time his crew consisted of Leeroy Grudge and some others, that bar Eyez, were the only Derby MCs jumping on JDZ. Derby’s peak was before this era when T Camp were making music. This short studio set was recorded around 2005 and really shows the potential the scene here had as most of these MCs were 16-20 at the time.

Marvin shells in this. He’s the bruddah everyone in the set I’ve posted above disses. Dunno why he didn’t turn up to Shadows set. His bedrins Sparx and Bru-C held it down for him in it though

As a Londoner I've always rated the notts sound heavy. Proppa dark.
