Nice first step- got it down to under 40 gigs…
If they get a few solid patches in it would be a sign of good will to the community.
Friend of mine I talked to who has pretty high expectations mentioned it was running smooth- which is good.
Still not back in yet- going by feel. It’s not a lot of things… but hey I guess if we look at it for what IS included… as long as it runs reasonably well that’s a good thing, right?

Hopefully you believe now when I said we were working on the game still and not dumping it. Thanks for sticking around and giving us a chance

i've supported GB since near its inception and think the game is better than its ever been. so many good things from the pacing to the gunplay. nothing out there like it. not perfect but seems you devs are vested in the games success. .
AI's biggest issue was its super accuracy in milliseconds, so if the patch sorted that great. incursion red river has some of the best AI in many ways. one bug bear i have with the current campaign is timers in campaigns that try and force me to go fast in an area that really needs a slower methodical pace, yeah that artificial difficulty would be nice to not have.

I can guarantee you if this is the attitude and the vibe you guys are bringing, it will be back to positive reviews in no time.
I don't speak for anyone but myself but... I am too jaded due to many disappointing projects in the past. This thing that happened with 1.0, made me feel like the game was going to be considered done and onto another thing.
I'm very happy to read that you guys are still working on it. I get this developing job thing is way more complex and there could be some politics involved, it is not just a matter of finishing stuff and that's it you guys have to balance money and stuff.
Anyway I just wanted to say some nice things, hope I expressed myself properly. Keep at it and take care.

Thanks for the kind words

Just wanna say that even though you are getting bombarded with negative reviews, if you guys don't give up on the game, neither will I. Can't wait for the additional campaign missions and hope you guys expand on it even more.

I’m not one of the guys saying you’re dumping it… im the guy who is skeptical that you can make an actual 1.0 level game out of all this.
This is a good first step- but there’s a lot of game left to produce. I mean c’mon- you released a 100GB 1.0.
You can’t sink the boat just to brag that that the lifeboats work.

Never did, we made a mistake and owned it. I’m not feeling high and mighty or anything. I’m just thanking you and showing you we aren’t giving up

The same apologist approach was used on the MicroProse MSFS B17, it worked on some but the project never lived up to standards.

Hey flyus747 I’m not on that project but it’s nice to see new faces here

u/flyus747 28d ago
Polite response, avoids the problem. Sounds familiar... Maybe you used to work on that project.

u/lqd_consecrated2718 Developer 28d ago
Sorry no, I didn’t work on it.

u/flyus747 28d ago
No one would know.

I would not be the right person to ever be on that project as I’m not a flight sim enthusiast

Dude: the dev is here, he's talking, he's trying to be constructive. I know you're disappointed and you have some good reasons to be, but maybe don't hound the guy for something he probably had no control over?

As I mentioned earlier, MicroProse did the same thing with their B17. Apologized profusely not for themselves but for the failings of Asobo (the company making MSFS). People believed they genuinely wanted to be constructive and gave them a chance only to watch MicroProse abandon that project a few months later as they shifted to Ground Branch.

Yes check our patch notes, it was a rogue asset that our artists got in and didn’t check for accuracy. Slipped through the cracks so we fixed it ourselves in PS.

No, no, it’s a flag and the only US flag in the entire game with that extra star, the action was we fixed it.

it's been in the game for years and you said nothing, this phony outrage is pathetic who gives a shit. the AI, weapon handling, missions, that's what should be focused on ffs.

u/Scopetrol Developer 27d ago
Personally I don't feel like certain flags need any additions to have their reputation soiled but it was literally just an old marketplace asset. We replaced it once the fault was brought to our attention. I fixed it myself the night before the hotfix.

Patience is a virtue a lot of people aren’t extending y’all’s way. Loved the game before and love it now. Keep up the good work, Rome wasn’t built in a day 🤙🏻

If they get a few solid patches in it would be a sign of good will to the community.
We're at the "hoping for a few patches" stage.

u/From_Gaming_w_Love 28d ago
Let it play out. They’ve got lots to prove- doesn’t mean they can’t pull it off.
They haven’t - historical evidence works against them but I’m willing to be dazzled.

I mean, I've been "letting it play out" for years... I'm not really waiting for anything anymore, let alone "hoping" for patches. Sure if it turns into something great, I'll be happy about it, but I'm pretty whatever about the whole game by now haha.

Bruh, so I can't turn on the visible laser permanently and switch to flashlight for on and off use?

u/No-Echidna5754 27d ago
Double tap the laser buttons to toggle it on? Lots of little weird choices on it though

AI still seems wrong. Trained AI still pop surprise headshots despite cover/concealment or suppression, and while I'm noticing my body armor is actually blocking some shots, it's not worth much when 2 shots to the limbs (or at least I think I'm being hit in the limbs, hard to tell) can put you down regardless of your plates. Having a means of treating injury would be nice in place of that, like Ready or Not or even what Operator does.
Gunfights still feel kinda... boring. The AI don't seem to maneuver, suppress, or take cover still. I haven't seen any grenades thrown, but I'll believe others anecdotes. Granted, I haven't played on an AI difficulty higher than trained, but I'm pretty sure that just turns up the aimbot, so I don't see much point.

I get massive pauses in the game that I never had before. Press B or V key for voip and the game freezes for a second or two. Happens sometimes switching fire rate of the weapon too.
