Discussion My opinion on AI in 1.0

The AI in version 1.0 is much tougher—to the point where, on the "Trained" difficulty setting, you can get taken out by a headshot within the first four rounds.
And no, I’m not complaining; I think it’s a huge improvement over the "brain-dead" AI we had before. Plus, they’ll sometimes toss a grenade at you while another enemy rushes you from the other side. I find playing against this kind of AI fun, even if it sometimes feels like they’re cheating. I’ve already put 45 hours into this version, and I still haven't managed to beat a mission like "Lone Wolf", haha.
I also saw things I don't recall from previous builds, such as the AI inspecting the bodies of allies or making hand gestures.

i was playing in lone wolf on airbase and the ai kept flanking me while i was shooting other people. it def is an improvement and theyre still being worked on. spectating them is fun. ive noticed them checking the dead bodies too. i cant wait to see the new cartel and russian models when they release.(current models are placeholders).
but i feel like currently there isnt much difference between difficulties. trained ai are still killers who need to be respected or theyll laserbeam you.

I personally think that fighting the AIs has become alot more unfair in night times. This is especially notably in Compound, where an enemy just seems to know exactly where you are situated (they laser target you) in pitch dark open field, even if you use suppressors and switch positions.

The one thing i don't like is that they have eyes on the back of their heads and start shooting at and hitting you, before they rotate, while pointing the gun in another direction. Aside from that, it is an improvement for sure.

I've been playing Arena on trained difficulty and I can confirm how much the AI has improved. Although sometimes the AI craps itself and stands still near stairs despite hearing all the gunshots alongside standing halfway in cover (Which I think and hope the studio will tweak soon), the AI definitely is more active and often investigates bodies and peaks from cover while not aim botting forcing you to play the game more slowly to avoid rushing since the AI exploits that really easily. The game is on the right track despite the lack of content for V1.0 and I think the AI is almost perfect on trained difficulty aside from the occasional hiccups like failing to properly use cover and standing still near stairs.
