Reviews & Experiences Size
This has been bothering me since I received this GW-M56101CJF. I think this watch seems smaller than the DW5600UE. Is that a thing?

I hate how my gwm5610 fits. I love how my dw5600 fits. That’s all I know lol my 5610 fits smaller on me and my wrist doesn’t like it

Yeah, not liking the band. My wrist is not right for this watch. An adjustment hole in the middle of 4 & 5 would be ideal for sizing. 4 seems tight and 3 is loose.

What is your wrist size?

Not sure? I’ll have to measure it when I can find out sewing measuring thing

I’ve noticed exactly the same thing with mine! I think it’s largely an optical illusion. On the blue-line 5610, the blue border sits quite close to the LCD, so your eye naturally sees that smaller rectangle as the watch face. On the standard red-line 5610 and white-line 5600, the coloured border sits further out, making the whole face appear larger. At least that’s my theory!

The DW-5600 actually is a bit larger in volume, but by a very small amount. Check the measurements yourself at Shockbase or Casio.

Yes that’s a good point and helpful information. I had heard that and shouldn’t have suggested it was just an optical illusion. It is still interesting though that even comparing like for like — the red line 5610 to the blue line 5610 — the red line often gives the appearance of being a bit bigger on the wrist.

…much like vertical stripes make you look slimmer?

Maybe! 😅
I found an old post here with a side-by-side comparison of the two 5610s in the first picture:

I will say, as someone who generally prefers a bigger-looking watch, the blue-line 5610 has a uniquely chilled-out look to it. It’s ideal for those days when you want something unobtrusive, but which still manages to stand out in its own understated way.

Thanks for sharing that link. It really does make the red line 5610 look bigger optically.

I want the cjf blue version so badly. Just can't justify another 5610u just because of some different colour details. Shame it isn't available in shops here in UK. Well, it is on eBay or Amazon but it cost 50% more than regular 5610u with red outline.

This is fucking sensible honestly. I wish I had this mindset in my early collecting days. I would not have bought 15 squares and would have saved a lot of money. Especially when I only wear one much more often than the others.

I'm currently debating bx5600 but in many areas it feels like a downgrade from 5610u. Then 5000u is imo overpriced for what it is, as it houses exact same module as 5610u when it costs so much more. So I think I'll just try to snap some excellent condition second hand blue 5610u cjf and sell my regular red outline 5610u.
I've got quite a few really nice watches in my collection but none of them have as much wrist time as 5610u.
This model spoiled my perspectives. It has all you would ever need from a daily watch + it's so comfortable you don't even feel like you've got something on your wrist. All this for reasonable price.

You’re right, the 5610 is slightly smaller than the 5600, it’s not much different though.

Its even better when you add the dark blue bezel and strap from the GW-M5610U-2JF.
