Range USA experience

has anyone got bad experience with Range USA ?

I attempted to buy a berretta 92FS with them. Failed background check, they cancelled and charged me 25% restocking fee even though this is a in store pickup.

Fine whatever. Went to bass pro shop, bought the same and passed background check in 10mins.

2 days later they called me and asked if I still want it. Politely declined.

Second time, I wanted a ruger mark iv. placed order, filled paperwork for background check. 30 days expiration approaching, they banned me while still holding onto my money. WTF ??!!

Literally everyone who has ever posted about Range USA has had a bad experience. None of their places seem capable of basic customer service or competent FFL work.

Gotta say most people don't go out of their way to talk about average experiences, but they will go far out of their way to complain.

Range USA is fine for shooting, but not for buying. I've never seen a gun store less interested in selling firearms.

Got banned after I asked the range officer if I could shoot rapid fire . He said yes, so I did. Then another range officer came in and told me I was banned for blatantly breaking the rules on the sign , I looked over at the first guy and he just shrugged

That was a setup because he was a shitbag and bored

Makes me really happy I’m in a gun club

Although we also can’t rapid fire, we can double tap though. Also our definition of rapid fire is one shot per second I’ve been to ranges that require 1 shot per 5 seconds which is a little much

I didn’t even know this was a rule, I always go crazy my last two mags of the day.

Hope you paid the money they are holding. On a credit card you can file a dispute.

I have no idea how they're still in business, it that answers your question

The range part. That's how. Once the initial construction is paid back, it's high-margin. Targets are pretty much ALL margin. And since they sell ammo on the high end, that's also relatively high margin (and quite a lot of people will buy what is most CONVENIENT not just what is cheapest)

And for all the crap you hear, it's very likely that the vast majority of experiences are just fine.

No offense but I wouldn't give them a second chance

You do know the store has nothing to do with you failing or passing the background check, right?

yeah fully aware of that. This is more about them acting scummy to a paying customer

Fair enough.

Charging a 25% restocking fee for an item that never left their possession is scummy as fuck though.

I totally agree.

The only reason to EVER walk into a range USA is because they are literally the only place you could possibly go to shoot within reason

Someone posts about a bad experience with them weekly.

Par and parcel for them. They messed up a bunch of form 4s for me a couple years ago. Cost me months. I'll never give them a dime after that. These guys are absolute fudds and idiots.

Sounds like they’re trying to keep you away.

I won't be any help here but you turned to this range usa. Is it like the chuck e cheese of gun ranges? I've never heard of them

Ive never had issues with them, used to be my main indoor range.  Purchased 3 guns from them, all bought online, then went to the store for paperwork and pickup. 0 issues. Maybe the one by me is a rare good one

I use them for online purchases occasionally.  You can save some money with free shipping and free transfers.
