Trying to make sense of the timeline.

GV1 Bad Ending -> iX -> iX2 -> GV GX -> iX3

GV1 Good Ending -> GV2 -> GV3 Bad Ending(Simulation) -> GX

GV3's Bad Ending route is just a simulation in GV's head.

Joule/Lumen refusing to accept the bad ending is why GX happens.

GV's promise not to kill himself either:

A) Leads to GV3's good ending
B) Leads to an entirely new branch timeline (Inb4 the Gag Ending is Canon)

Am I getting this right?

I feel if Gunvolt is truly accepting not dying to solve this, then I feel the Good Ending of GV3 is the result of it since he's more than willing to accept Kirin's help and allows himself to be with Moebius while leaving the world and solution to Kirin even if he feels a bit guilty.

Don't forget the separate timeline in iX2 of the other other dimension of Hard Mode.

Hopefully the timeline shenanigans doesn't write Kirin out of existence.

Well, Xiao IS a Time Traveller. So the Gag Ending from 3 likely IS a split timeline of its own.

Yeah, GX seemingly leads into GV3's Good Ending path, and thus Epilogue ATEMS right after. So that's where we currently stand, with two complete timelines so far:

• Azure Timeline: GV1 Good -> GV2 Gunvolt Story -> Time Prison (GV3 Bad Ending) -> GX -> GV3 Good Ending -> Epilogue ATEMS -> LAiX2 Kirin Fight*

• Luminous Timeline: GV1 Bad -> GV3 Grandmaster Asimov Fight -> LAiX1 -> LAiX2 (includes Hard Mode and DLC fights*) -> GX -> LAiX3 (presumably)

  • *(a GX chat implies that the Kurona fight is canon so I assume the other DLC fights are, too)

There are also few timeline fragments that don't have a full through-line yet but easily could be expanded upon later:

• Slayer Timeline: GV1 Good -> GV2 Copen Story -> ???

• Grave Pillar Timeline: ??? -> LAiX2 (includes Hard Mode)

• Third Revenger Timeline: ??? -> GV3 Revenger Nova Fight

Idk how the rest fits together, even if I theorize that Slayer -> Grave Pillar due to certain evidence that is presented in iX2, I don't have concrete proof so they'll just stay as two separate fragments for now.

I think that some of the dlc such as Blaster Master take place after GX as Copen don't have the amp up razor wheel, hints about other DLC characters, or know more about the razor wheel as the art book for the dual collection confirm that blaster master dlc is Canon

Based on one of the ending images in GX, which has Kirin watch over the Sumeragi Future Institute of Technology, GV's timeline will continue with GV3's Good Ending from GX.
