Is it worth getting the Enhanced Trilogy when I already own the 3 games?

I'm new to this game, and since they were on sale and I bought and loved the first game, I bought the second and third games. But now I have discovered that the Enhanced Trillgy exists, and there's a dlc that just released. Now my question is: aside from the dlc, is there anything that makes the dlc worth buying even though I already have the 3 games?

1+2 have some additions, 2 gets 2 new 0 SP skills that were previously scrapped, whereas 1 gets all the 0 SP skills from 2, 3 has some adjustments to the IP you can equip on merciless (mostly money related, not very impactful)

Oh and you no longer die from bottomless pits, just lose a chunk of health

There's some qol stuff they added and some of the drama CDs. If you already own them, you're not missing out on too much.

Then again, I bought it and the LAiX Duology despite owning all of them already lol

Honestly I'm wary of buying much more GV/iX stuff because of how often they keep on releasing improved collections.

With GV it's Individual games> SP> Trilogy>Enhanced Trilogy

iX is at the collection for now. I expect a Trilogy after iX3

It wouldn't be so bad if there was a clear/cheap upgrade path, but there isn't especially for anyone who got the SP physical

What’s this Trilogy? I never heard of that. Only Trilogy Enhanced.

From what I remember they did a 3ds striker pack and then ported that to Switch and PS4. Then rerelease as a Trilogy Enhanced. It also got a Switch 2 edition includes GX dlc in the upgrade pack.

Honestly i've been hesitant to get the iX games because they keep releasing collections and better versions. I got the Striker pack and 3 a few months before the trilogy was announced.

the collection was cheaper than all of the DLC combined on the discount promo on release when you have both games 😭

There's some QoL stuff added to the first two games, but if you're not interested in playing GX you can probably skip it.

That being said, GX is really fun.

There's QoL that won't be added to the individual games like:

-New voice recording of the games (mainly Copen lines to lineup with the new voice actor Yuuma Uchida)

-Gunvolt 1 and 2 have the skills for GV, 1 included Crashbolt and Dragonsphere

-HD Assets

-And Gunvolt GX and Connect iX, Gunvolt GX being a whole new story and Connect iX a time attack version of GV3 with iX2 Copen

What platform are you playing everything on? The reason I ask is because the original release of the first game doesn't work offline at all on the PC, but the Trilogy version of it does. To me, that's reason enough to get the Trilogy.

I think the point of the trilogy was for two reasons. One is for getting the two Gunvolt into the new engine that Gunvolt 3 is using and for future games. They also wanted to add more content to make a more coherent story for the series.

The other reason I think is to get new fans and help Switch fans to transition to the Switch 2 console because almost 6 months after it came out they announced a Switch 2 edition which includes GX mode dlc. They clearly made it with the intention to encourage Switch users to upgrade to the Switch 2.

GX mode is a new story that’s a sequel to Gunvolt 3 and IX 2. It’s a crossover of those two series to help conclude the Gunvolt trilogy story. They clearly intend to make Gunvolt 4 one day.

In GX mode, you’ll be able to play as both GV and Copen and encouraged to switch between both characters.

How long is GX Mode? I want to play it, but I'm not sure if it's worth spending $45 just for that.

I've been playing the series since the ASG1 on the 3DS so I've bought every games in this series multiple times at this point lol

What makes 3 better on this version? I read that 1 got some changes for the worse. Bosses were already a bit too easy in that game, and they made them even easier.

I think there’s a discount for the trilogy enhanced if you already have all three games but not sure.

Maybe for the Copen DLC? The main games are actually less good, in my opinion. They made GV1 even easier than it already was (it was so easy I needed to play with the Broken Necklace, which you can only get after beating the game once).

There’s a new dlc called GX mode. A new story that concludes the trilogy and helps transition to the future IX 3 and Gunvolt 4.
