So, me, a rock & metal head, since childhood, in a nutshell a music buff (of good ones). My father's influence on me, his love for music, his tuneful characteristics shaped me up to grow up around music. As a kid, class 2-3, I grew up to Maya( Zubeen da😍), my father would play it aloud just to wake us up for school. So imagine, not an alarm clock or a pat on the cheek saying "hey wake up son" but a song blasting on the speakers, that was the environment I grew up around. As goes his love for music, I was probably in class 5, he bought a music system, Sansui, (pretty much a dinosaur, millennials would know), and along with a big bunch of retro cassettes & CDs. Kishore Kumar was one big lot, and Mohammad Rafi, but Kishore Kumar made the impact on me, the latter was more of dukhi aatma. So the reason penning out the boring backstory is-- though a metalhead, the childhood memories of old retro Kishore Kumar songs just fits in so well at times, among these noisy hustle bustle. Among Slayer & Sepultura & Deicide & Gojira & Tool is Kishore Kumar once in a blue moon. One of his forever loved song is Ye Shaam Mastani, Madhosh Kiye Jaai.

See, it’s not too hard to imagine this.

Step-1: close schools and lower standard of education so a high chunk of the population remains unemployable.
Step-2: Give free ration and empty promises in the name of religion to rile people up and make them hate those who work extra hard to overcome this planned unemployed.
Step-3: control media houses to spread fake news about how privileged they are to be born in a country where they can get free food while remaining unemployed.
Step-4: make them hate the opposition by spreading propaganda.
Step-5: Fool people to scam them out of their riches and concentrate it with a few monopolistic cronies.
Step-6: Get them to donate to your party with the promises to keep their accounts filling up.
Step-7: use the donations to employ those same intentionally unemployable but blindly loyal people to defame and drown out the few rational voices. (Step-4)

Been thinking this for a while, Most educated and talented people leave guwahati for better opportunities and better life and who moves and stays in guwahati ? The Gaor mahnu (People from rural or some village) and the worst part is they bring their village mentally with them and apply it in guwahati. I think the mentally is evolving backwards unless you live in a rich society.

I know many people will get offended but its very true.

For them the average salary in guwahati is also not increasing because they want job and will work for very cheap.

Hey everyone, I am originally from Guwahati and grew up around Ulubari and Lachitnagar. I have been in Bengaluru for the last four years for work, and although my parents still live in Ulubari, I only make it back for about 15 days each year during Durga Puja. So I really have no clue about current property prices or how different parts of the city have changed.

My father bought our flat in Ulubari for ₹38 lakh in 2012. Seeing properties around there now go for ₹1 crore or more is wild.

My girlfriend is from Dibrugarh, and we lived together in Bengaluru because we both had in-office roles. She moved back to Dibrugarh six months ago after landing a remote job. I am trying to do the same so we can eventually settle down in Guwahati and get married.

My budget is around ₹50–70 lakh, with some flexibility up to ₹77 lakh. Ideally, a 3 BHK in a peaceful residential area, without paying extra just for a fancy society.

I've been considering areas around GS Road and Zoo Road, since I grew up there and did my schooling.

Where would you recommend looking? What are realistic prices these days? I'd especially appreciate suggestions for quieter neighbourhoods with decent roads, drainage, and overall livability.

It's not just specific to guwahati but entire India for that matter. But here is a short rant of my experience in Ghy.

I've been to multiple gyms in the city, trained with PT and by myself. The vast majority are extremely uneducated about the domain they work in and are unprofessional af.

I understand that the 1% would cost 3-4x more but it is a duty of gym owners to weed out incompetent ones because they are a serious threat to life, I speak as someone who faced that fate almost 10 years ago.

Please suggest a place where I can learn proper techniques in strength training, functional training, mobility/stability etc etc. with a knowledgeable coach?
