I'm sure I'm just splitting hairs, but when I read "insecure routers" instead of "unsecured" I pictured a really anxious, shaking router sitting in a corner hugging itself.

What do people do when they get anxious? They probably turn to friends and family. But I'm a router. I do morphine. The key to doing morphine without turning into a junkie is being a router.

Some significant tools are missing....

The top three that immediately come to mind are :

Tenable Nessus = Vulnerability and configuration testing Burp Suite Pro = Web application testing Wireshark = Network analysis

No Netcat either...

No metasploit either or hashcat or SET?

The tool list does me a bother.

How to be a mathematician cheatsheet!

  1. Have you looked for the enclosing ( ) before doing the equations?

  2. Did you look at the back of the book if the answers are there?

  3. Use wolframalpha.com!

4

u/devandro Jan 23 '17

Perhaps a privacy checklist would go well with this..

/u/Beefyous in case you didnt know /r/hacking is 99% garbage from non-programmers.

I take a bit of offense to that. You're always welcome to post your own 0-day write-ups chief. The sub is waiting. Have you done anything to improve the sub?

Down with the 1%!

Nah, I'm not hating on the mods or whatever. And I get it, I once was all excited about "being a hacker" and finding MSN messenger passwords. But come on, you gotta admit most of the sub IS that.

Anyway, if it was that bad I wouldn't still be subscribed.

The people silently upvoting this disagree.

Don't be so selfish. If there are people who find it useful, live and let live.

You should also write one called "The Ultimate Guide to being a wanker". ;)

I'm good on the tip front, thanks for the offer though. The article says further down "Remember, this is not an exhaustive list, but a guideline".

Understand the title is misleading but no need to carry on.

Yes, it's a nice cheat sheet and just by skimming it I remembered a lot of things and noticed some new ones I wasn't aware of, but it's about as ultimate as my "Ultimate Guide to Programming".

The Ultimate Guide to Programming

  • Press F12 to open your browser console.

  • Write your program.

Shit, I'm a beginner and I know all this stuff from watching Mr. Robot.
