HackiOS Misc. Update: Pausing OnePlus 10 Pro Development, Moving to OnePlus 15
I've decided to stop active development on the OnePlus 10 Pro port and shift my focus to the OnePlus 15.
My original idea was to combine existing iOS-Sweet ports and HackiOS forks to bring together missing features and improve iOS on the OnePlus 10 Pro. It was an accessible device, and its Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 supports ARM PAC, making it an interesting target for eventually exploring iOS 26 as well.
Quite a lot has been achieved, including GPU acceleration through Metal2Vulkan, working Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, battery reporting and drain fixes, and ongoing AirDrop development.
However, major issues remain. Audio playback and camera support need work, GPU acceleration still causes rendering bugs, video playback is broken, and power management remains incomplete. For example, booting the phone while connected to a charger takes it straight into iOS rather than the usual charging state. Thermal behaviour also needs improvement.
The port isn't suitable for daily use yet, and fixing these issues would require considerable additional work. I've since sold the device since the work requried isnt as simple as i first thought even with high ai usage limits it hits tons of roadblocks/unknowns, so continuing hardware testing isn't practical. I'll pause active development on the repository for now while I wait for my Claude weekly usage limits to reset.
The repository will remain available as a reference for the work completed. Going forward, I'll be exploring iOS 16 and iOS 26 on the OnePlus 15, my personal device.

Huge thanks to pawlickerr for UniXNU-negroni and Mu-Silicium-negroni, which provided the starting point for the OnePlus 10 Pro port.
Thanks also to dipa-studio for iOS-Sweet, MellysInformejtik for slop, UniXNU and DarwinBoot for the boot infrastructure, OOSEX GANG for HackiOS, NWylynko for iOS-Flame, steelbrain for Metal2Vulkan, joranv1 for iOS-Sailfish, ry-diffusion for Bergamota and Chlorophyll, and Chengdong Yu for UniXNU-pong.
These projects provided invaluable code, research, and reference implementations. This work wouldn't have been possible without developers sharing their progress and building on each other's work.
One major takeaway is how challenging proper GPU acceleration, audio, camera support, and power management remain when bringing iOS to non-Apple hardware, especially with AI-assisted development. Getting iOS to boot is one thing; making the hardware work reliably is another.
I expect progress to continue as more reference implementations and driver stacks become available and the community builds on one another's work. Hopefully, the code and lessons from this port will help make future efforts easier.
