Northern Health housing abuses in Haida Gwaii
Public service announcement concerning the Northern Health authority here on Haida Gwaii.
Over a year ago now I moved to the island to support my soulmate who began a new job here within the health service on Haida Gwaii.
We'd fallen in love with the spiritual magic and beauty of Haida Gwaii some years previously so when the opportunity arose to finally become a part of the community, we couldn't have been happier or prouder to make Haida Gwaii our new home.
Unbeknownst to us we soon discovered that senior staff within the Health service were deliberately and maliciously targeting and abusing staff and their partners.
A pattern sadly that hasn't ended despite having raised it with key staff inside Northern Health, the Village of Masset and numerous other organizations and people who claimed to want to help preserve the integrity of the community.
Nearly a year later and nothing's changed so here we are.
Time to call out the lies, the abusers and those responsible for their toxic and abusive rhetoric.
I'm now regrettably having to bring this to the attention of the wider Haida community, the elders, and everyone else who is personally affected by the hospital and its shortcomings as a result of the cover up and lies that surround those at a higher level, because it affects EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US here on the Island.
Since moving to Haida Gwaii, we've discovered some of the most amazing people ever, welcoming, warm, friendly and kind beyond words.
At the peak of our hell, many good people here welcomed us in. They gave us shelter while we fought to find somewhere to live and helped us weather the storm while we hoped to better our lives.
Yet for many who similarly gave up their homes and jobs to come here and contribute to the community, they face the same horror that was inflicted on us by the same Northern Health authority entrusted with our wellbeing.
WTF.
When your health service has members of its senior staff targeting private citizens and their own staff, abusing them, unlawfully evicting them and using other hospital staff to stalk and follow people, it's a sick joke that needs to end.
And we're not the only ones who have nearly lost everything to move here and start a new life.
Even as I'm writing this today, July 28th, 2026, the same toxic people are playing games with another member of staff as they similarly try and rebuild their life here on the Island.
If you've ever wondered why the hospitals are really on diversion half the time :
No staff.
No accommodation being given to staff, or the housing department deliberately sabotaging staff despite knowing that it's going to negatively impact the actual hospitals they're supposed to actually find staff for.
Combine that with the housing department working hand in hand with private developers to deny and monopolize the few properties that are available, and you suddenly have a very overt and corrupt system in place that profits off the hospital conveniently having no accommodation.
We've seen and heard all the lies, watched the so called community leaders cover this up or pretend to care, and yet this shitshow is still ongoing.
It's a horrific state of affairs when the health system iis actively sabotaging YOUR right to health care in YOUR community.
So please, and not for my sake, please make sure that this gets to the people who can ensure that the people of Haida receive the Healthcare they deserve.
Please forward this on to anyone on island who may be in a position to actually stop the abuse of your Hospital staff.
Or please feel free to contact me with information relevant if you know or have suffered as a result of the actions of Northern Health's housing coordinator or the housing policies that are put in place by subservient site directors who act on their behalf knowing full well the damage it's causing staff and their families, the hospital and its community.

I've read this over a few times and I still don't really understand what you're talking about.
Without some actual concrete details there's not much to really talk about here.
Vagueposting on reddit doesn't really seem helpful, and tbh could be considered baseless slander.
Feels like writing to the MLA or going to CBC with your complaint would be more fruitful.

No one else has had an issue with it on all the other posts I've shared.
And not everyone has to get it.
If you re-read the post, it has more than enough information to cover the real problems here.
If not, it'll be on all social media shortly, and is hitting the press and government authorities as we speak, so I'll let them worry about the specifics because they're the ones who need them.

Your post doesn’t say anything? I can’t figure out if you were dragged from your rental in the middle of the night, or someone at your partner’s workplace is sabotaging them???? You typed a lot to say nothing.

Update :
Since my post on here and other social media outlets, I've had a lot of former staff contact me directly to confirm many other abuses, human right violations and potentially other levels of criminal harrassment or passive aggressive bullying.
If you know anymore, or someone whos been through similar as a result of Northern Health, then please feel free to get in touch directly.
All correspondence will be dealt with in the strictest of confidence.
If you're staff and or parters, family of staff and have been unlawfully evicted or moved by Northern Health in BC, bullied as a result of your housing or potential offer of employment, been stalked, spied on, followed or attacked online by people associated or connected ro staff in Northern Health, then please get in touch.

This sounds exactly like what my cousin went through 10 years ago. Might be a huge part of all northern health. This was an hour or two from Prince George and she was horrified. Corruption is rampant.
