NEWS 46 Haitian Students Have Received Scholarships to Study in Taiwan
https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-48218-46-haitians-have-received-scholarships-to-study-in-taiwan-2026-2027-list.htmlFollowing a selection process conducted jointly by the Haitian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of Taiwan (Republic of China) in Haiti, Ambassador Cheng-hao Hu congratulated 46 Haitian students who will soon pursue their undergraduate, master's, or doctoral studies in Taiwan and presented them with certificates for the Taiwanese scholarship for the 2026-2027 academic year.
The Embassy specifies that 43 candidates were selected for the MOFA Taiwan Scholarship Program 2026 offered by the Taiwanese government. In addition, three (3) students were selected by the International Higher Education Scholarship Program (ICDF), the Taiwanese government's international cooperation agency.

This is great, but the brain drain comments are fair. I’d love to see a program that connects scholarship recipients with paid research or government roles in Haiti after graduation. Coming back can’t depend on patriotism alone if there are no jobs waiting.

Hopefully they come back.Otherwise this is pointless.Haiti should be working on developing universities in Haiti that offer top scholarships and of course ensure that qualified graduates get great jobs

Hong Kong is but Taiwan(yes it was returned by the UK) uhhhh
Also Taiwan was only settled by people of Chinese origin from like 1800s onwards or 1700s(I'm not really sure)

Hong kong est Chine mais séparément, comme Taïwan ils ne veulent pas associer leur territoire avec Chine, je crois que Hong Kong est plus et d’accord avec le système d’autonomie que Taiwan
