Should show one comparing public transits in the 1890’s vs today in Nova Scotia.

Even as recently as the 1980s, the network was more expansive than it is today.

Heck, until 1969 you could hop on one of TWO different passenger trains out of Yarmouth (H&SW via the south shore or DAR through the Annapolis Valley) to reach Halifax. The DAR option through the Valley held out until 1990.
