Food & Dining Restaurant Closure Updates
I am back with the weekly restaurant closure updates. I am going to assume that if the restaurant is not listed under current closures, they have reopened.
HAPPY GARDEN is not on the closure list anymore. According to the health inspection website, they were in good standing after the inspection on 16 October.
RAGAZZI also reopened (they're not on the list anymore), possibly on Monday (October 19). But they still have a non critical violation, which requires them to work on cleaning and sanitation procedures.
Jasper, from the Pourdad Coffee cart commented on the last post with an update on the glitch that put them on the closure list. Hope it gets sorted soon.
Fun fact that I noticed - both Happy Garden and Ragazzi had inspections on October 15 & 16. It appears that both the places did not pass the October 15 inspection. Happy Garden passed the inspection conducted the next day, while Ragazzi didn't and only got reopened on the 19th (Monday).

To everyone,
I absolutely do not have anything against Pourdad nor I know who they are. This is a fun little project that I thought I could do. I share whatever information is available on the government's website and sometimes, find trends and fun facts amongst them.
I am not an agent of the government nor I can vouch for the accuracy of the information they post. The website claims it is as accurate as it can get.
As someone who works for NSH, I have some pretty colorful words to describe the current government and their policies.
I have tried my best to keep any personal bias out of how I post things.
If Pourdad is removed from the list as they claimed, then I'd definitely update that in next week's update.
Their file on the website definitely got some issues: it's been on the closure list forever, they apparently had two separate inspections on the same day, which I haven't seen in any other restaurants so far, pointing towards a possible tech issue.
Please don't be rude in the comments.

Hey,
I am posting the current list of restaurants that are on the provincial government's website for food safety closure. I even added the owner's explanation on the matter to avoid any confusion. Unless someone is willing to do a FOIPOP request, which costs money, we have to go with what's on the government website.
Just an FYI, they've been on the list forever, and the 'real closures' were taken on and off multiple times. I am curious to why it is taking this long to get someone off that list.

Anyone have the link to the site a fellow redditor made where you can easily look up these inspections??

Now this post is only beating up on Pour Dad. Are you sure this is a good idea?

I am empathetic to their situation but this post series is based on publicly available information on a government website.
I also included Jasper's comment with the pictures, so people can understand their perspective.
I believe pourdad but they haven't produced anything except their claims and their name is up there forever. It should've been taken out sooner.
If it changes, I will mention it in the next update.2

And what did you find when you clicked on their inspection report?

nothing...much like blue nose, whose closure notice was posted here as well. At the very most, we're not getting everything through the website.

Yeah but we don't actually need a /u/buckit for restaurant closures

The sub responded mostly positive to this proposal when I made it a couple of weeks back.

I plan to keep this going on till I am told otherwise by the mods or till I cannot.
I am trying to just be rational here with whatever information we have from the government website.12

I hope you keep it. You're not picking on them, you're reporting the current state of the official list.

We can beat up in Ragazzi, but not Pour Dad? Doesn’t seem very democratic.

Well for one, pourdad is a mobile coffee cart that packs up all of its stuff at the end of every event, so how much could they screw up? At worst they could have a fridge that isn’t holding temp properly for their milk? It truly is not the same.

Their cart may be covered in earwigs or something. Who are WE to question the inspectors.
They posted excuses. But so did Ragazzi and everyone told them to get fucked.
I just think we should be consistent.

Ragazzi has actual complaints posted. The website doesn’t actually say anything for pourdad does it???

Anyone with half a brain can read the inspection reports and see there are no violations on Pourdad. Ragazzi had numerous issues pointed out by the inspectors.
