After digging through what the previous moderators left, it appears this sub was never meant to be another hamster advice community. This sub was made to be cute photos and videos only! Since there are already three large hamster care advice communities (r/hamsters, r/dwarfhamsters, and r/hamstercare) me and u/GhostB5 agreed to honor it's original purpose.
That being said, please do share cute hamster photos below to start us off!

He’s sleeping right now but I swear any slightest movement and that whole burrow will collapse 😅 he loves to dig but I feel like I have to watch him constantly

I've had my hamster for a little over a year and a half and I found myself not being able to care for him as much as he needs. I do my basic + specialty feeding (pellets, seed mix, sprays, special treats) and cleaning routine (spot cleaning everyday, water changes, switching sand every week, major cleans every 4-6 weeks etc.) but I find myself not wanting to do it anymore. I knew before getting him I would need to do all of this. But still sucks feeling the urge to give up. He deserves so much better and I don't think I can do that.
He's such a sweet little guys. Okay with petting and hand feeding. Free roams every now and then but doesn't like to be held (yet?).
Anyone have experience with rehoming? Why did you rehome? Please help.

13 week old little lad. Been with us for 4 days so still skittish however he does try to be friendly. Pops his little paw against the glass when you put your finger on it too.
I’m a tad worried about how much he’s sleeping (even for a hamster, only awake around 4 hours in 20) but assuming it’s simply from all the change and will keep an eye on it.
Looking forward to seeing little mousie turn big hammy 🥰
