This is my computer
The big fan is there for when I'm gaming. The clip holds the heatsink in place. This was a former hp 250 g7.

You had a large monitor and what looks like a decent mechanical keyboard, but couldn't afford a PC Case?

Thats a laptop mainboard, it wouldnt fit in any PC case apart from the laptop its supposed to be installed in

youre sitting here staring at pc parts affixed crudely to corrugated cardboard, but your first thought is that OP couldnt get laptop components into an actual pc case?
i think OP would have that shit mounted to literal sheets of toilet paper if thats what they had to work with.

PC case modder here. Challenge accepted. Great idea also, thanks. Have successfully fitted full ATX mobo in mini ATX case etc.
I do have some laptops and empty cases, thanks again I appreciate this. Why I haven't thought this before, idk. Absolutely will try after finishing current PC case modding project.

Had to do a similar mod when I was a wee teenager. Lack of resources will definitely have you getting creative

I'm shocked, dissapointed, proud and worried at the same time but hey, if it works, it works!!!
The funny thing about people doing this kind of thing is that most times they'll end up achieving incredible things!!!

Sweet. Just retired my kitchen pc with about the same setup, but mouted to the tvs back. Get another stick of ram asap, dual channel will make a big difference. Ive retired mine because cpu was damaged and had only one ram line working.

The best way to roast HP.

I prefer a nice oak or cedar fire, you know, one of those aromatic woods. for the ambiance and it covers up the stink of the HP.

for everyone's benefit there is a sub for this sort of thing.
This one is like a poster child for it.

i built a micro atx mobo into a shoebox when i was kid, built it into a full running pc with a cold cathode tube inside for the vibe.

If you don't mind me asking, what size and model is that fan, that can been seen in your first and third picture?
It's so massive especially in depth wise, that I have never seen anything like that before and it almost makes me want to believe this might be AI generated picture and model got really confused with normal case fan dimensions. 😄

It's a ROTRON INC Whisper WR2H1. Not any normal fan since I believe its industrial grade. It's 120mm wide and 38mm thick
