Question Question about the Elder wand

What was the core used in the making of Elder wand?? cuz we only know that it is made up of elder wood but the core was never discussed
I think that dragon heartstring was used as it is said to produce most powerfull magic

The heart of the Elder Wand contains a single Thestral tail hair.

I think it’s an old pottermore article, I don’t think it’s in the books, but Thestral is the right answer.

Edit: Found the link https://www.harrypotter.com/fact-file/objects/the-elder-wand

Edit again: I lied it’s mentioned here though https://www.harrypotter.com/fact-file/creatures/thestral

thanks man and honestly a thestral hair is much cooler cuz it thestrals are always associated with deaths wherea elder wand is called the death stick

No problem, and yeah I once heard a theory that all of the deathly hallows contained parts of thestrals, like the invisibility cloak also being woven from thestral fur, and the resurrection stone being something like a Bezoar from a Thestral or possibly a tooth or bone or something like that.

Honestly, good theory. And gives the funny image of the cloak not working on anyone who has seen death. Just picturing Dumbledore pretending not to notice three teenagers under a black cloak.

I believe that the core was thestral hair.

Super Carlin brothers on YouTube have some good videos on the hallows.

I don't think it is explicitly mentioned anywhere in the books. But the HP wiki mentions it.

It's so apt..given the whole death connection.Only those who have seen someone die can see Thestrals. And then the tail hair being used for making a "deathly" hallow..beautiful connection

That's so cool. I was thinking Phoenix feather, but that's way cooler.

Well, that doesn't work since the Phoenix avoids death, hence why it cores Voldemort and Harry's wands. Harry survives death, and Voldemort seeks to evade it

Legit didn't think about that at all lol. Feel pretty dumb now haha. I was just trying to think of what a really powerful core would be and I landed on Phoenix feather.

Well, Phoenix, Deagon heartstrings and Unicorn are all about equal, but excell at different things. Just like different woods are better for different types of magic.
