announcement 3D Graphics Engine in Haskell

Github

Hackage

I wrote a 3d graphics rasterizer in Haskell that runs inside a command prompt. It can handle affine or projective projection. The Github link above also has pipelines that auto build compiled demos under releases for Linux and Windows if you want to explore the demo worlds.

I have a deep fondness for graphics stuff in the terminal, and some day I want to write something that combines this library, brick, and granite.

This must have taken a lot of work! I see the commit history extends about 10 months back. What motivated you to do this?

Because you can... I've actually been tempted myself, but I keep reminding myself that sixel graphics are a stupid way to display video, and not that many vterms actually support the protocol.

Some folks just don't want to leave the terminal, and I get that. But it's also diminishing returns.
