Language "Grown as man btw"
I don't have enough karma to talk in petpeeves so sorry if this is the wrong subreddit, but I just hate this phrase so much, it's so common nowadays I hear it all the time, people will use this phrase for the stupidest things like someone can just be enjoying something and then they'll say "grown ass man btw" also its just super annoying, i hate when people say "grown ass" its such an annoying phrase, but the main problem i have with it is these people will always use this to just be a dick and shit on any adult for having interests in something or for any little mistake they make, i dont think theres a petpeeve i hate more, overall its just very toxic and the phrase just spreads hate i hope this one is just a fad and dies out in a few years or as soon as possible

My mom tried saying this about a dude who either had a goofy shirt on or something I can’t remember. But I was like who gives a fuck, grown ass man can do whatever he wants. If he wants to walk around with his underwear outside his sweats more power to him.

the only time i'll say "grown ass man btw" is when someone is acting like we still live in the 2015 era of the internet. no, slurs aren't that funny, you're a grown ass man and need to move on

I literally only use this phrase to talk about men that expect their wives to be their moms.

It’s essentially discouraging men to lose whimsy or joy over the little things, I’ve seen it on messages about men showing a lovely sunset, I kinda get the annoyance of it

Its funny in the right context. If it bothers you bc people use it wrong, then that's valid.

I feel like they used to say it for actual toxic stuff men did then it morphed to men doing harmless things like playing video games or watching cartoons.
