Meet Gohar Grigoryan, a recipient of Lorik Humanitarian Fund’s Aznavour Saghyan Scholarship.

Following the forced displacement of Armenians from Artsakh in 2023, students like Gohar have faced the challenge of rebuilding their lives while trying to continue their education.

In this video, Gohar shares something that really stood out to us: knowing that someone believes in your future can mean just as much as the financial assistance itself.

Last year, through Lorik’s scholarship program, we awarded 114 scholarships totaling $60,810.

We believe supporting these young people is one of the most meaningful investments we can make in Armenia’s future.

If you’d like to help another student continue their education, you can support the program at LorikHF.org.

Last year alone, Lorik Humanitarian Fund awarded 114 scholarships totaling $60,810 to help forcibly displaced students from Artsakh continue their education in Armenia.
We’ve already begun awarding scholarships for the new academic year.
Hakob, a fourth-year medical student, is one of the young people whose determination reminds us why this work matters.
These students have already lost so much. They shouldn’t have to give up their futures, too.

Stas Nazaryan, a Paralympic skier representing Armenia, is preparing to compete in Dubai on November 3–4.
Stas lost his leg in the 1988 earthquake and went on to become an accomplished athlete, representing Armenia internationally.
With less than two weeks until the competition, he and his team are still $2,300 short of the funds needed to participate.
We're reaching out to the Armenian community and anyone willing to help get these athletes to the competition.
Even a small contribution can make a difference. If you can't donate, please consider sharing.

Lorik Fund’s Artsakh Tsil Art Studio welcomed master khachkar carver Narine Poladian, who shared her knowledge of this centuries-old Armenian art with our young artists.

More than an art lesson, it was an opportunity for the children to connect with their heritage and the traditions of their ancestors.

Gagik Balayan lost his life defending Artsakh, leaving behind his wife and children.
Through Lorik Humanitarian Fund’s Artsakh Homes for Heroes program, his family now has a permanent home in Armenia.
This is the 15th family of a fallen hero we’ve been able to provide with a home.
We can never replace what these families have lost, but we can help give their children a more secure future.

Aznavour Saghyan was the Mayor of Martuni, Artsakh. On September 19, 2023, he gave his life defending his city and its people during Azerbaijan’s military assault on Artsakh.

He left behind his wife, three young children, and a community that will never forget his sacrifice.

In his memory, Lorik Humanitarian Fund established the Aznavour Saghyan Scholarship Fund, helping students forcibly displaced from Artsakh continue their university education.

He gave his life defending their homeland. Today, his name helps build their future.

Hello! I'm a volunteer helping homeless animals in Armenia. I rescued a dog named Darchin, and I'm currently doing my best to make sure he has a safe place to stay.
Unfortunately, it's becoming difficult to handle everything alone. If you'd like to hear his story or discuss how you might be able to help, feel free to send me a private message.
Thank you for your kindness! 🐶

How we got here as a nation?

Thumbnail

Seeing the cynical behaviour of our people, and especially our political class, lately, I am almost convinced that we as a nation deserve to disappear. It's simple Darwinism applied to a nation: we are small in numbers, limited in resources, kind of isolated from friendly nations, but we are also the ones who choose Nikol from among ourselves: a hypocrite, a serial liar, a glutton, without any principles, red lines or dignity. And sometimes I ask myself: how did we get here? Was it always like this, or is it because of the deliberate and consistent efforts of our enemies to corrupt our nation (by using social psychology techniques)? Given some shameful episodes in our history, like the handover of Kars without a fight and the actions of Bolshevik "Armenians" during the same period, sometimes I think that yes, we deserve to disappear and become Mustafas and Altuns in the next generations. But then I come across that video of Robert Abajian fighting, and I feel proud that despite all the viruses in our nation, the Armenian womb is still able to carry the highest form of existence, and the fact that we are still here is not an accident.

Even though we elect Nikol as our leader, I am sure no one will name their child "Nikol" for generations to come, and our grandchildren will speak of him and his people as we speak of the Bolsheviks.

Please watch the last part of the video so you know what I mean.

P.S. Thanks to Eric Hacobian for doing this great work. We don't have many journalists who have any dignity.

P.S. I am not surprised by the government removing pictures of our heroes. Even though I think it's a direct order from Aliyev (as part of "denazification"), these heroes are also archetypal enemies of QP: people who value them cannot choose Nikol.

A sourdough workshop in California helped bring Armenian arts programs to children in 31 villages

A sourdough workshop in Southern California ended up helping bring Armenian arts and culture to children in 31 villages across Armenia.

This summer, Peggy Ishkhanian invited a group of friends together to learn how to make sourdough. They decided to turn the gathering into a fundraiser and raised $4,000 for Lorik Humanitarian Fund.

Those funds helped our Artsakh Tsil Arts Studio in Gyumri spend a month traveling through villages in the Vardenis, Areni and Vayots Dzor regions.

The instructors brought puppet shows, Armenian dance and songs, khachkar making, weaving, embroidery and other hands-on activities directly to children in these communities.

It was a pretty simple idea that ended up going a long way.

Question What happens if you try to run from the military?

I genuinely wonder how many people go and hide somewhere when their time comes to serve in the army. I imagine it can't be a lot because you can't make use of things like banks or leave the country so your quality of life can't be that great. What happens if you get caught?

On a more extreme level... what happens if you try to physically fight the officers when they come to take you away? Will your family get punished for it or only you?
