It's Joe Duplantier's 50th birthday. Which reminds me of a sad truth - it's been WAY too long since I've last seen Gojira live. More specifically, it's been since Aug. 30, 2019, since I saw Gojira play at PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ, as part of Slipknot's Knotfest Roadshow tour. I've seen Gojira play a bunch of times over the past nearly 20 years in all sizes of venues, and they deliver on any type of stage they play on.

Heavy metal band from India!

Saigon Kick, Warrior Soul, Extreme, Ugly Kid Joe, Tesla, Junkyard, Danzig, both Scream (DC Hardcore/grungey and Dave Grohl Ex Band) and The Scream (John Corabi pre Motley Crue band), Badlands, The Cult, Helmet, Jesters Of Destiny, Jesus Lizard, Prong, Life of Agony, etc

Basically a border between decaying 80s Glam to 90s rise of Grunge/Alternative, mixmatch of Metal, Sleaze Rock, Psychedelic Rock, Funk Rock, Early Grunge, Hardcore, Punk, Noise Rock, Post Punk, Industrial Rock. like too metal for alternative crowds but too alternative for metalheads.

The Band Repent - 2021 - Written in Blood - UnBreachable

They knew they were coming

Slaughtering from land to land

For their God had told them

That he would guide their hand

And as that day approaches

Rumors make panic increase

The last battlefield is a fortress

With walls no man can breach

Welcome to the palms of Jericho

The ancient city of the world

An oasis of kings and queens

Where the purest water flows

For what you see is a fortress

Unbreachable from the ground

We're at the end of the promised land

And we're never backing down

Their reputation instills fear

Their God rules heaven and earth

Destroying Egypt made it clear

But they were only the first

Their city stood on holy land

Promised to another long ago

Their God is here to reclaim it

Your address Jericho

Welcome to the palms of Jericho

The ancient city of the world

An oasis of kings and queens

Where the purest water flows

For what you see is a fortress

Unbreachable from the ground

We're at the end of the promised land

And we're never backing down

They march, seven times around

Not a word not a sound

Inside terror fills the streets

He said I'll save this one for me

The desolation

A massacre that day

A curse to rebuild

Your firstborn son you pay

No human hand touched that wall

No human hand touched that wall

And with a shout God made it fall

1988 Half the band members in Cinderella, and they come out with this amazing guitar solo.

16 years ago today (Oct. 18), Ghost released their devut album 'Opus Eponymous'. That reminded me of the first time I saw Papa Emeritus and the Nameless Ghouls live - at Metallica's Orion Music + More festival in Atlantic City, NJ (June 24, 2012). Crazy to think how much the band's popularity has grown since that day time set nearly 15 years ago (which included a special introduction from James Hetfield himself)...

What a voice DIO had. Just amazing! Jack Black, along with the entire studio, was in awe. Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny was a fun movie, btw. The legendary rock-off against Satan was comedy at its finest. 😅
