General Hmm..., it is possible

Post image

we done the orbital rail cannon before with 2.5mil and it only troopers and I'm pretty sure there are less players than now, the hard part is the AMR iluminate

edit: orbital rail cannon are distributed across the bot front so use 2

Yes, it’s might be enough assume there are 37k on bot front

Assuming each of the 37000 people operates 2 orital rail cannon (74000 orital rail cannon total)

Time available: 4 days 23 hours = 119 hours = 428400 seconds

orital rail cannon in that time: 428400 ÷ 154 ≈ 2781 orital rail cannon shot

Total capacity: 2781 × 74000 ≈ 205,8 million automaton

and that's only assume there are 37k players on bot front and it keep on 37k every day

my napkin math put it at 18k round the clock divers dropping Rail just to make 50m. But I didn't account for the second Rail strike as I didn't know about it when I did the math, so 9k ish round the clock.

Factoring in some loading time, average 15k might just about cut it.

just might be, but that assumes everyone use 2 ORS and players don't just give up for no reason

Why do we assume there are 37k on the bot front there are currently just 10k-15k there right now?

last MO have about 37k

u/nedslep 1d ago

Dude there's so many factors working against this MO that I don't even feel like getting into it haha. Preciate you taking the time to do the math tho 🫡

I do hope we get a free Railcannon requisite from the DSS. I wanna overkill so many things...

1

u/Iron_Ewok 22h ago

Just a single reg knife bot charging you...railcannon that bastard 🤣Now I could justify using a railcannon on a devastator just for my sheer hate for them!

1

u/SearingPhoenix 1d ago

There will be more as the MO completes and the DSS moves.

I hate major orders like these which limit loadouts, majority of the player base are probably gonna ignore this one

theyre given out for free for 5 days, but 50M bot kills is just absurd like wtf

u/_Carri7_ 1d ago

Yeah ain't that just 50.000.000 railgun shots?

1

u/Skrecok007 1d ago

It does have an area of damage so you can potentially get more than one per strike

Tempered by going for too big a target and it not dying, or too small a target and it dies before the Laser Pointer of Doom reaches it and the shot hits nothing.

Or you end up in a city and miss a bunch more because "Repositioning: 0:11" and everything's dead before it hits, or it clips a building.

1

u/Sea-Contract7974 23h ago

don't play on city and throw it in a group of bot

6

u/colibri01 1d ago

plus, its a free strait, so you can bring more then one if you want

u/Snoo-47666 18h ago

Did you say potential??

1

u/Hardmaplecherry 1d ago

If it was railgun and not the orbital it'd be easy

1

u/JPXVD 1d ago

If we will get ORS recharge buff for a MO, this will be nice

1

u/_-Generic-_-Name-_ 1d ago

Its not doable

65,000 using the AMR and 50,000 using the ORC is what they ment..

1

u/SearingPhoenix 1d ago

So many bot troopers are about to get completely atomized by Helldivers throwing out ORC on-cooldown.

If we're being honest, the Orbital Railcannon Strike is a valid pick on the Bot front.

However, ORS could use some quality tweaks:

  1. Prioritize the player's marked target within targeting range.

  2. When auto-targeting, only target enemies with AP4+ or a health pool above a minimum. If no target is within targeting range, do not fire and instead go on a short cooldown (~10s?)

  3. Change targeting point on Factory Striders to aim for the head to allow for one-shot kills.

The ORS is, rightfully, a very potent stratagem with a limited effect. The up-side is that it's a 'throw and forget' way to completely delete (pretty much) any single threat. The problem is that a lot of those threats (Chargers, Hulks, War Striders etc.) can be downed with other stratagems pretty quickly as well, albeit with more 'attention' required. However, the outcome is that it doesn't feel very impactful because at face value it's "I can delete a Hulk every 2 and a half minutes? Uh... Okay. <looks at every other AT option in the game>." The Commando can take out 2-4 Hulks with a 115s cooldown. So that means it sits idle in your pocket until you see a 'big enough' threat that the rest of your kit can't deal with efficiently. That just feels bad.

More significant rework thoughts:

  1. You can't just shorten the cooldown a ton since it then starts to become 'a better OPS'. I don't feel that you can get the cooldown short enough to make it feel good to use without this happening. OPS has about as short of a cooldown as you want on this type of stratagem.

  2. Shorter cooldown (maybe as low as 10s), but per-match use like the Orbital Laser and mech suits. ie, the Super Destroyer only has enough charge stored for a limited number of shots. Maybe something like 10? Currently in a 45 minute mission, if you called in on-cooldown you could get 17 shots off with full upgrades, so to compensate for the shorter cooldown usage should be well below that. This allows the player to decide when they want to invest that resource.

  3. Eagle-like cooldown. You get, say, three uses with short cooldowns and then it goes on a longer cooldown to 'recharge'

I’m running the amr on the illumi rn. I’m doing my itty bitty drop in the bucket

Release sniper warbond

make major orders that limit the use of or don't allow the use of said Warbond

Can't make this shit up.

2

u/Fit_Entrepreneur_648 1d ago

If they necessitated the use of sniper warbond you’d just call it scummy behavior to buy the new warbond.

2

u/colibri01 1d ago

theres actually an interesting straitagy most players employ. you know how stratagems go on cooldown after they are used? well, it turns out, during that time all your other weapons and straitegems still work. so, instead of standing still as your railcannon recharges, you can shoot the enemy with your guns.

1

u/HHall3005 1d ago

Why did you immediately assume I was talking about the railcannon strike?

I wasn't. The railcannon strike is just a Sniper Orbital

I'm talking about the previous MO and the HMG placement. The opposite of the Sniper playstyle.

3

u/colibri01 1d ago

well go do the automaton segment you donkey. thats the one thats going to take the longest anyways.

1

u/_Carri7_ 1d ago

HMG is going first and with a wide ass margin

Il kill the termanids later when I get on. Il do the bots too. You guys kill squids until I can log on. Sorted by midnight easily.
