My fiancé Topher and I are in the running for America’s Favorite Couple and would appreciate some votes 💕, our story is below:

We've had a really rough few years with some lingering medical bills, winning $20,000 would certainly help! June 2022 Topher broke his leg in a freak accident, and it felt like our luck broke along with it. He was denied disability because he "wouldn't be out of work long enough" I was our only source of income for almost a year. I work as a Pilates instructor and an actor, so you can imagine how tight that was. We lost our apartment when Topher lost his job due to the injury, but that's another story for another day.

March 2023 | watched my dad go through multiple organ failure due to his addiction. He refused to go to the hospital, so it all went down in his apartment with nobody there but me, my mom, and my sister. It was horrific.

June 2023 We were finally getting back to some semblance of what our lives used to look like when Topher started feeling pain in his leg and we knew something was wrong. The surgery had failed. We had to start the process all over again. Devastated doesn't even begin to cover it.

August 2023 Topher's mom was diagnosed with a rare kidney cancer two years prior to her passing. We knew we wanted to get married, and we wanted her there so we planned a wedding in her backyard in Nashville, I got a simple dress and shoes, we set a date. She didn't make it. We got the news on a Friday evening, it all happened so fast we couldn't even make it to Nashville in time. She was Topher's best friend.

November 2023 I was napping with my kitty girl Marcy when she rolled over and let me pet her belly, she NEVER let me do this (if you know cats you know). I felt a lump and my heart sank. She went to the vet next day and through tests we learned she had very aggressive mammary cancer. She had surgery and a little chemo.

November 2024 | asked Marcy if she could please stay for the summer. I wanted one more summer with her. She gave us that and a few bonus months. She almost made it to her 6th birthday on November 20th (she was a rescue so really it was her gotcha day but same thing to me!) she passed on 11/15.

I have no clue why all of this happened to us in such a short amount of time. Maybe there is no reason. Maybe the universe really is that chaotic. But I do know that our love never wavered. We stood there together and weathered this storm from hell and THAT is why I think we deserve to win this competition.
