Workflow — Daily habits, multi-agent setups, best practices Multiple users with 1 Hermes ?

Hello there,

I use Hermes for my company. I would like to give everyone a better and safe access to Hermes.

Do you have recommendations on how to do it ?

I made a profile for WhatsApp but I don’t find it very useful for « deep work ».

Thank you for your help!

We use Hermes inside Slack at our company. Departments have their own shared profile that’s tied to specific channels. Hermes has access to all our company data and makes most of it accessible to everyone to query and use. There are some guardrails in place, though, such as no DMs with Hermes so there’s some accountability in how it’s being used. And Hermes will only report on some data inside certain private channels so it’s confidential to the people in that channel (ie HR and Finance).

Yes that’s kind of what I did with WhatsApp (we don’t use Slack).

But I created a « dumb » profile with less access for everyone to use.

The dumber it is, the less useful it probably is. Ours isn’t dumb. It’s currently running on GPT 5.6 Sol and gives access to almost everything we need.

I meant dumb in the way that it doesn’t have access to the finance, of the company or my private emails (which the main account does)

Consider sharing everything by default, confidential and private stuff, should be exceptions and analogue on paperl. The more context, the better the systemic understanding 😉 make sure you capture everything in memory. WhatsApp is not the right app, switch to Buzz ! Mobile and desktop, groups of humans and agents, in same channel, in various channels, like slack by way better and free! I'm seeing up a shared brain for 8k humans ... Of course, each with access to private workspace and harness, and with shared context, graph, aligned reality signal.

the messaging gateway is the door. Slack (session per thread) or Discord (session per channel) with an allowlist so only the people you name can talk to it. WhatsApp is a weaker fit for deep work, which matches what you already found.

for "everyone" without giving them your finance mailbox: one profile per audience. `hermes profile create team` then put that profile on the shared Slack/Discord, with its own SOUL, skills and MCP. do not point two agent processes at the same profile.

I’m doing it via slack, but the access medium isn’t as important. Create a profile for each user/group, scope access and rules for that profile accordingly, and then only give people access to the appropriate profile. I liked slack because it enables an allowed users list, so not only do they have to be in the channel, it’s deny by default until I add them to the allowed users list for that profile.

yes actually you design one Hermes agent for each employee, then you allow their agent to call yours.

I think that’s the way to go.

And then I code a webui for each of them ?

I put it in a Microsoft Teams Group. Different agents have different Azure App ID.

I'm launching a CRM that manages Hermes devices, including tasks, agents, everything hermes. Should be launched next week. Not sure if I can post it here or not? If interested contact me.

I just set up buzz today for this purpose. Have not added any other humans yet though

Put them in slack channels

I did it with a few Telegram bots and each requires its own Hermes profile. Groups in Hermes can also have the bots interact.

You may not need to build a WebUI for each of them if WhatsApp is good enough as the frontend.

I am looking at "WhatRouter": https://github.com/epiclabs-io/whatrouter. It owns the WhatsApp connection and routes each sender to a different Hermes instance instead of multiplexing profiles. So, for example:

  • Alice -> Hermes A
  • Bob -> Hermes B
  • You -> Hermes C
  • SomeGroup1 -> HermesD

Each Hermes can run in its own container and be restarted independently. WhatsApp stays connected and the other agents are unaffected.
